I'm most interested in the puzzles that advance the Halo canon. Bungie's done a great job of that so far.

The person is putting up strange away messages every few minutes and will not respond to any messages that I send. I think that this is a very big step in solving the puzzle, if we can get some information from this guy.

Keep working on them!

Just checking, is this an appropriate place to discuss the puzzles?
Anyway, did you do a comparison with the old list?

::runs in panting::

Sorry! What i'd miss? Oh puzzles? Keeping up to date? Other stuff? Prizes?

Nah, its just some Halo 2 background information that is being delivered in a fun and creative way. There is as much of a prize to be had as reading the last Cortana letter does for ya.

Actually, I've been engulfed in the Gheritt White mystery, and I believe I've delivered the only existing explanation on it. ::shrugs:: it makes sense to me :P (I'm gonna write it up in full on the underground, i already put it up on the marathon story page forum). Now that's a crazy puzzle! 10 years old . . . virtually no explanation . . . .

GW terminal, Never Burn Money, Terminal #2

Hey this looks like the longest thread w/o flames! hehe

Were the Cortana letters this involved?

Cortana letters.

Well, no. I can't reallly think of anything this involved since Marathon itself. Cortana letters were simply a series of five emails spanninig quite a bit of time that were poetic and cryptic, but otherwise, fairly straight forward. But remember, Halo wasn't announced at this point so it was fairly random when it hit the community.

No, not nearly. Four short letters, maybe 2 pages of text. Caused a huge stir, though, in the Marathon community. Lots of M references, 3 stages of rampancy, cortana/durandal connection, and what seemed to be a description of a W.......r (unspellable demon) from Marathon.

If you read on the first pg second post I made a link. On that thread I talked about the Rope-a-Dope idea. That's what I'm watching for.

So maybe Bungie(or whoever) is trying a different approach. To throw is all off.

I wasn't nearly involved enough, but I think the lack of (apparent) direct connection between Marathon and halo was disappointing to Marathon fans. there seemed no way that the two could happen in the same universe. Perhaps alternate universes. The marine in Marathon (who might be or related to master chief) bounced around alternate realities in Marathon:Infinity.

Flood Infection,

Try looking at the spacing of the spaces, and the missing words. It might help.

::shrugs:: I was just rattling that off from the quick links on Hamish's page. And yah, I find it kinda dissapointing that Halo doesn't take place while the Marathon is enroute to Tau Ceti. . . . I liked to think that stuff such as the Marathon symbol being on forerunner, cov, and human stuff was more than just a nod to a previouisi game. . . oh well :( and I'm not much of a fan of his "soul" or something bouncing around and consuming Bungie Game Heroes. It absolutely can work . . . its just I don't find much meaning in it. ::shrugs again:: Back to PiD/Marathon links I Guess . . . .
