Whats your best Halo 2 memories? Did you meet any friends that you still play with now?

I can't name any one single memory of H2. I can only say that it is probably one of, if not THE, my number one favorite games ever. I do have memories of playing with my very good friends(friends since we were toddlers) playing on my xbox when I brought to their house and we had a great time.

The first time I saw Halo 2, when my 3rd grade teacher brought his xbox to school. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have never gotten into Halo. I later got it for my birthday later that year. I played it everyday for 3 years when Halo 3 came out.

Halo 2, I will miss you! Thanks for the fantastic memories.

My overall memories of growing with this game is what I think of. Idk, it's like a beloved teddy bear or a favorite piece of furniture in your room getting tossed out and the explanation is because they're going to get you a better teddy bear. I'm also worried about this particular forum, I like the people here and it's part of my fondness for H2 but.....dunno what's going to happen.

Grumpy, I fear the same. I've grown to like a lot of people on this forum. I'd hate for it to die.

I met all my Xbox Live friends on Halo 2, and by friends, I think of them all as best friends, same as in the real world.

Our 'clan' has been together for 6 years now, and our original group of about 10 people is as tight as ever, although we're now spread over MW2, ME2, Forza 3 and AvP. Here's hoping that Reach can bring back some of the magic that Halo lost with Halo 3.

I love Halo 2, as does everyone in TFM.

halo is not tactical or very team oriented. its not like "Dieter, frag and clear on zulu. Loiselle and Price, yoo fall in on my lead. Go! *boom, door breaks and some gunshots heard.* Tango Down! Gold Element, secure hostage. Blue Element, regroup at objective rally point." its usually more like, "yo i gots rockets, ima go camp in the sword room" which you dont even have to say. my point is that you dont need to communicate in halo

The first thing that comes to mind when I think Halo 2 is pulling off this disgusting quad shot on a dino. Don't know why.

Then it's my old clan Hiryu.

Then its Lockout... superbounces on every map... watching the first group of people learn how to double shot and thinking they were modders... actual modders pooping on everyone.

Getting modded against and hitting the standby button on my modem to out-cheat them. LOL.

Getting a 35 in Team Slayer

Getting on top of the X building on Headlong. Go look it up on youtube and you'll realize i'm pretty good at bouncing.

Check out my Gaming Rig on EVGA Mod Rigs.

Halo 2 on XBL was probably was of the best gaming times in my life. I remember getting home around 12:30 AM and popping it in for My First Game

At that point there were so few people playing it was hard to find a match at first but I will never forget the fun times that came after that.

Far too many memories to name. There is no game to date I have spent more hours on than Halo 2. I will never forget the night way back in 2005 when I got live and popped in Halo 2. Played it always with my friends from school. We would always have big sleepovers at each others houses playing Halo 2 online til 4 in the morning with 4 xbox's in the room. Getting modded, bridged and standbyed was always a pain, but it was part of the game unfortunately and learned to deal with it. Always loved spending hours playing "Glichz" in custom games and doing superbounces. I will never forget the night i met my friend Austin GT: Godly Penguin(Was fastpenguin at the time) and he lives in Illinois and I live in Minnesota and are still friends to this day and we met online over Halo 2, how awesome is that? I have never gotten emotional about a game, but the fact of the matter is Halo 2 had an impact on my life, as weird as it may sound to say that it did. I will proudly say from early 2005 til Halo 3 came out I was an addict, and if you ask me Halo 3 does not hold a candle to Halo 2. Thank you Bungie for creating and supporting a game I will always love and cherish. If there were ever a way to get Halo 2 compatible with the Xbox 360 dashboard and could still have working matchmaking I would be in full support and would buy it. Halo 2 you are a true legend!

I got xbox live with Halo 2. I have 2 very good friends I met from Halo 2 in 2004 and we are still very close today. A trio.

I guess Halo 2's community is what made it such a great game. Everyone played customs not matchmaking. Halo 3 fails in everyone wanting to be a 50 and blah blah. Halo 2 people just wanted fun. Which meant every game was 16 players and there was always a game on.

I guess I miss it, hopefully reach will do what Halo 3 couldnt.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

SO many games...so much fun. Like this for exapmple.

RIP Halo 2

It's my favorite game ever. I have great memories of playing Campaign over and over with my good friend and doing it on every difficulty. Getting the skulls. Etc. I also have fond memories of playing on Xbox Live. So many great memories with this game.

It was fun, it was very competitive if you wanted and, sadly, it was full of cheaters. At least, as long as they weren't a cheater, you could know how good a player was by looking at their level, getting past level 31 meant you were an okay player. I played over 6,000 games with two different accounts and my highest level ever was level 34, which was fine.

Bought it the day it came out, joined Bungie.net 5 days later. I met a lot of people, but became good friends with 3 guys in particular, they don't play on Xbox LIVE often nowadays, but we keep in touch.

In my opinion, multiplayer-wise Halo 2 was perfect, the only thing that ruined the experience for me was the massive amount of cheating going on, particularly on the mid to high levels.

PS: I just played a Team Slayer match and got my arse kicked. (:

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

I have many awesome memories.
Me and my friends, when I was really little, didn't have XBL. We would play splitscreen for hours - no end. It was fun. I look back with great memories.

waking up and realizing i was still in matchmaking after falling asleep and the score was 19 to 40 team slayer on turf and coming back and winning outta my daze of sleep 50 to 45 with me having 30 kills, and it made me happy hearing everyone on the other team calling me a modder even though i never have done that crap but it made me feel good about beating the smack out of them that bad.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I remember playing a game on Sanctuary where it was a super close game and we ended up winning. Kind of dull, but I remember it well.

Also, the countless number of custom games played and super jumps attempted was fun. Playing zombies with 16 people was so much fun.

It's hard to believe it's going to go away soon. I mean, I played SO much Halo 2 with my friend at his house. It was the first online game I played and it was a FFA Swords match on Acension.

Stupid ass washing machine...

I've never played it online, as I never had live until recently, but I've dug it out for my 360 and I'm still loving it. I always remember going around my mate's house and playing online on it for hours.

My favourite memory is when I first saw the Albatross on Relic, and found it so incredibly awesome that it soon became "MY Albatross, -blam!-!" xD

I'll always continue playing it offline in Split-Screen, but come April the 15th, I'll be very upset :'(

"I'm not getting in that, it's blown up" lol,

Someone told me this when I asked him to get in the warthog (the was pretty beaten up but i could still roll with it, he obviously didn't think this).
