How about a special addition 360 that doesn't break? They could make it bright pink with ponies on the side and i would still buy it....

Ok so I've searched the forums (yeah tats right i used the search bar!?!) And there's a problem going around with people who have ODST and when they click Intel they get this message

"Can't retrieve information from xbox live
Please try again later. Status code: 800700e8"

Now will this mean no Beta for them or what because I haven't seen a solution any where and it's pretty serious if it really affects peoples opportunity to join the beta. if anyone can rectify this that would be great!

No it's happened ever since the game first came out and I tried the New Intel Button.

But no one knows a solution and Bungie is clearly ignoring it and I want to play in the beta and if this hurts my chances I'm going to be very displeased.

And I'm also Not the only person affected by this.

My best guess is that it might be connected to family settings and such. Do you have any of those options enabled?

Not family settings enabled at all, i checked everything and again I'm not the only person who has it and no one knows wtf is going on nor how to solve it.

This is what makes it a problem.

That happened to me as soon as i got the game. My friend could access the new intel but i couldnt.

It just fixed itself or something. I can access the new intel now, so maybe it will just take some time.

Ok so I've searched the forums (yeah tats right i used the search bar!?!) And there's a problem going around with people who have ODST and when they click Intel they get this message

"Can't retrieve information from xbox live
Please try again later. Status code: 800700e8"


The answer for that problem is quite simple: Change the settings of your xbox back to the original "Locale" and "Language" of the gamertag you use.

I'm from germany and if my xbox is set to "English" and "United Kingdom" (my favorite to avoid harassment) I have no access to the Intel-Menu. If I change the settings back to "German" and "Germany" the sun shines again :)

Is there something wrong with you? It was a serious answer you tool. Many people have complained about the same thing and it's a connection problem.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it is definitely not a connection issue. I have a really good connection (wired) while my friend has a definite worse connection (wireless), yet he could access the new intel and i couldnt.

Its a problem with the server connection to a back-end service.

It is generally related to the validation of a redemption code. My guess is that the redemption code that is built into the Intel option has not been setup on the redemption service.

Interesting is this is a regional issue - would indicate that each region has a different redemption code in place ... which leads to the limit on beta acceptance being per region.
It is a beta invitation - not a guarentee. B have been avoiding the guarentee question when it pops up.

Don't forget to reboot your xbox 360 after changing the "Locale"-setting (seriously!).
