Bungie, what a great Valentine's gift. I love you too. XOXO ;-)

I love some of the hints you guys threw in there on new gameplay elements but I wonder how long it will be before people start calling it Halo: Modem Warfare. I think it's great that you're putting in sprinting, Halo needs that. Please oh please don't add a prestige mode though in MP...for the love of Halo.

Truly unbelievable. I can't wait for the Beta. With Halo 3 I was excited, but this game... I'm not just excited, I'm ecstatic.

This thread is much stranger and more awkward than any of my many films.

This right here is why I love Halo; minimally scripted encounters, near infinite replay value, and the shiny (for the time) graphics in all of these games.

Oh, and to make fun of cocky kids in Matchmaking that owe me steak dinners...

  • 02.12.2010 4:00 PM PDT

oh my god. i literally had my jaw dropped for over half of that video. utterly amazing and beautiful. props bungie, awesome stuff

  • 02.12.2010 4:10 PM PDT

uh. Sorry, my brain just explode because I see the most beutiful graphics design I've seen.
The animations are, are... beautiful, amazing; I don't have the enough words to explain what I saw.

The next step, I'm praying all nights, Because I have the hope that Marty will release a little of the music of Halo: Reach, just like he did with Halo 3: ODST.

Come on Marty, my ears need to be caress with your celestial music.

PD.: You always have something new to show, Bungie rulez.

A square is always a rectangle, but a rectangle may not necessarily be a square.

Massive AI battles FTW!

ISU Cyclones!

Game is looking beautiful. The massive AI capacity has got me the most excited. It'll feel a lot more like you're fighting an alien army instead of a few alien squads.

That was yet another of those times where I just couldn't help but stare, jaw-dropped, thinking "this is going to be so AWESOME!" Great work on the game, I already can't wait for May so I can get my hands on that beta.

Calendar: check, Pants: wet.

Amazing ViDoc. Some game-play and leeks (we can sprint!)
Some glimpse of Marty's music. And, much more.

Can't wait until May 3rd!

  • 02.12.2010 8:11 PM PDT

Bungie is just truly amazing.

  • 02.12.2010 11:26 PM PDT

with all that ive seen and my tiny brain actually comprehend...i hope that all these added abilities...like sprinting and the elusive armour ability perk...that our controls stay pretty close to the same...i kinda like my halo 3 default settings....and for osdt it was cool replacing the x button cause lets face it when ur a marine you cant toss a power drain...will those power ups be present?....also with these huge battles, how will that effect co-op im thinkin LAGtacular!!!!

At 3:32 more customization than Halo3?

I'm not sure if they meant more customization on THEIR part, or for us.
I hope it's for us though!

its goona be like need for speed carbon and prostreet where every little thing can be change. i cant wait to throw sum spinners on my spartan

Sam (SIII-310 Beta Company) (SII-052)

I'll answer any questions you have, just message me. (Halo backstory, books, games, Bungie, etc.)

I'm a big fan of Halo and Bungie and plan on working for Bungie Studios as a Concept Artist eventually.

Bungie, though you'll continue on, Halo, in my opinion, will never be the same without some Bungie love included with it. See You Starside.

yea i know i guarantee it'll be game of the year for like 5 years! i cant wait for the beta :D

This game, even though its still in according to what you wonderful people at Bungie showed us, is still in Alpha, looks like it'll be able to compete graphically with the likes of games such as Resident Evil 5.

Quick two cents:
One thing that's been irking me for the past 2 titles is this odd feeling of emptiness between major structures and points of interests. There have been so many times that I've felt that everything seems so 'neat' and tidy except where somebody places an object that's intentionally not neat and tidy as a little dust sprinkling. Anything doodad/trashwise rarely ever seems to 'pop' out enough, and it looks a bit more of the same with Halo Reach.

A perfect example would be the MP map Foundry. when you take out the boxes and such, you notice a bit of trash all over the floor every which way, but it's like this tiny little sprinkling that doesn't ever get kicked up by rockets, SPARTAN/Elite boots, etc (though that's just because of the engine), and doesn't ever pile up much higher than half an inch off the ground at most. And on other maps? Aside from the little areas for trash, most of the pathways that you see are barely cluttered with debris, trash, leftover magazines/casings/fragmenting MG links/what have you, and it's a perfect pathway from point A to B, even on cliffsides and forested areas aside from the designated doodads that stick out like a sore mole with the clean bits (like that rock a SPARTAN walks over in the video. Nice Walk in the Woods reference, btw.). Compare with the center of MW2's MP map Favela, where weeds are sprouting out between the cracks of the streetm there's a million different places and ways that the concrete has been torn apart, and you'd be treading on garbage, plants, cinderblocks if you moved half a foot to the left or right of the tighter paths. Of course, the roads are relatively clean, but even then you can notice the potholes and trash littered everywhere.

Though, to be fair, the very first level of Halo 3 was extremely cluttered with shrubbery and the like (mostly shrubbery). Furthermore, we were in a crap-ton of valleys for most of that part of the game, which didn't help me getting similar linear pathing vibes as, say, the Pillar of Autumn.

tl;dr: More clutter and messy-mess in general, less exceptions, Bungie. I don't care if Virgil is particularly good at his job.

Never before have I been so pumped. I got chills watching the vidoc, everything looks awesome. The best of the old and new is all there! Plus new and unexpected badassery. This game is going to be unbelievable!

  • 02.14.2010 2:09 AM PDT

now i know gameplay and sound wise, bungie is the mastermind of this gen FPS, no worries there.

but graphics has been a let down in both halo 3 and ODST. I personally think the graphics in halo reach shown so far in the vidoc is ok (alpha stage, i know!) but not as astonishing as some people claim to be.

The texture isn't really sharp and there's still no grass(there is some)

I also hope this game comes out in multiple discs (i don't mind disc swapping at all, it is just another loading screen to me). don't want bungie to be restricted by disc size and using substantial compression, considering how big the game is gonna be, 1 or 2 discs for campaign mode and 1 disc for multiplayer seems ideal to me, but the ultimate decision is up to bungie, this is just a suggestion, i'm just here to support(buy) the product i think worth my money.

take your time to make this game as kickass as you can, no pressure, no rushing.

respect bungie, Halo CE my favourite videogame eva ! peace.
