Now that Halo 2 is being shut down the only way for people to experience the Multiplayer will be to buy the computer version, However some people have not upgraded to Vista or Windows 7 and therefore can not play halo 2 multiplayer anymore

My proposal is for bungie to make a XBLA version of Halo 2, It could include the campaign but the Xbox Live Multiplayer is the most important

The Remake should have
All Halo 2,DLC,and Vista maps
HD graphics (Doesnt matter though)
The Exact same map layouts as halo 2
The Exact same Engine
The game itself needs to be untouched (EG, Inf ammo swords duel needlers)

I Hope the Halo Community will support me in this

Thank you,
Yours sincerelly
X Storm Trooper

Well i support this idea, never played H2 online though.

I already played this game. It's $20-$30 and is a pc title...

I hurt people with my vast intelluctualince

"You're a -blam!-ly confused needler!"

I am bi, deal with it,

Also a Furry, deal with that.

As much as I support this, I have to speak the truth when I say it won't happen. :(

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

it should also have custom maps. Halo 2 pc had some awesome custom maps.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up this argument. Many people don't want to play games on PC, or have a Mac, etc... I, like many others, would much rather play games on xbox than PC.

I completely agree with this idea. I was thinking about this exact same thing.

i support the idea but i think some of the 360 features need to be added like chat and music

I would like to invite you to the most active group there is, Black Water Ops. Boasting over 4000 members this is one of the fastest growing groups and proven to be one of the most active Bnet groups. An amazing experience awaits you with weekly game nights, photo contests, and forging contests. This is one decision you won't regret.

I think most people would agree that this is a favorable idea.

They should just make it HD and multiplayer.

I would recommend a direct port of this game and nothing to be changed. Personally I think some of the glitches are fun to do and don't ruin the gameplay. If you do remake it, all I ask is to keep it as original as possible. Don't change any of the gameplay elements. What I would recommend for upgrades would be adding 2 Player co-op and more maps. Also you can update the menu that wouldn't be so bad but don't mess with the graphics they are so great. I would like to see this happen Bungie and I hope you do it.

We can always wish

That would be great, but it would be even better if it were more like a straight-to-Games on Demand Xbox 360 game, allowing it to have the same achievements as H2 Vista.

Unfortunately, Bungie's "Halo 2 send-off" thing is making it seem unlikely, even though I doubt it would be that hard to make it happen. But Bungie is sometimes very disingenuous, so might have plans to do this at some point anyway (Mythic II Map Pack...) Their behavior does seem rather odd though... I mean, realistically, Halo 2 will be ported to something else at some point. I'm sure it would show up on the next Xbox system. There's no way it's going to die and NEVER EVER show up again. We WILL be able to play Halo 2 again at some point.

Actually, it would likely be 343 Industries that does it, so I guess it's up to them. I hope they do it, and I would buy it immediately.

Yeah if they port it straight-to-Games on Demand people will need to buy it with a credit card. personally I rather pay for it in Microsoft Points. I really don't care about Gamer Score since it dose nothing but some neat avatar awards would be nice with the game.

you are aware you can change the price of games on demand to ms points so you don't need a credit card..just a heap of points :/

Xbox Halo 2 For Ever!!!

This!

I think all the game essentials should be left untouched and maybe just add a few features or necessary adaptations for this transition to be viable.

To be honest, I love my baby that is halo 2 and don't want it changing!!! :(

I think we will see it again.

There's life in the ol' girl yet.

It's a no brainer...one of the most successful online multiplayers of it's era, not to do it would be blasphemy

  • 02.21.2010 1:57 PM PDT

@OniLink

Halo 1 wasn't "remade". It's a copy-paste of the original...completely unchanged. Halo 2 would need to be changed to some degree or the port would be pointless.

IMO, at least this should happen...

Halo 2 (360)
-Achievements from Halo 2 Vista
-Online Campaign multiplayer
-Bonus, Maptacular, Blastacular, and Killtacular Map Packs included by default
-Uplift, District, and Example included
-Vista Map Editor
-All standard features of Xbox 360 games included (Dashboard, Chat, etc) and rehauled LIVE play
-Glitches from Xbox version fixed, such as Backwash's fog error
-Gameplay and map layouts left unchanged
-Graphics update

(Optional)

-In-depth B.net stat tracking
-Waypoint achievement tracking and avatar awards
-Save films and screenshots implemented

For around...$20-25. Microsoft would likely go the high-end $25.
