Once you've owned ODST for a four days it becomes obsolete. So it's been obsolete since release.
For people going just for the achievements, perhaps. There are some players who feel there is more to a game's enjoyment than getting its achievements. These people enjoy the game while not having any achievements, getting them, and after earning them all.
There are no achievements for Starcraft, Halo CE and Pinball, for instance. That doesn't make these games instantly obsolete to some people. I still play Halo CE, and still enjoy the game. So long as I enjoy it, it won't be obsolete to me.
So goes Halo: ODST, as far as I'm concerned.
