I'm running 2.26GHz MacBook Pro with 2GB and want a Halo with SWAT...planning on running on Windows 7 through Boot Camp. So, which should I get: Halo:CE or Halo 2 Vista?

I can whole-heartedly recommend Halo: CE for the PC. But I'm a little sketchy on recommending Halo 2 Vista.

Though, it depends on what you want: if you're willing to look past the marring technical flaws that encompass H2V, you should be able to occasionally find yourself having some good, old fashion Halo 2 fun. But if you want a game that just works (and has a much more lively community), definitely go for Halo: CE.

I would also suggest reading this Buyer's Remorse thread, as it details what is generally wrong with H2V.

Something smells fishy...

I highly recommend Halo Combat Evolved. Many people have had problems with Halo 2 vista. I still play Halo Combat Evolved. It never gets old for me.

halo ce is good halo 2 vista works fine for me but on my hp i can only get 17 frams per secound so if your laptop does not have a good graphics card I would not recomend it. PS halo ce was mad for mac also so you do not need windows 7 if you do not want to.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

1. There arent many players on h2v, but that might change after you know what happens.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

H2V is crap. Get HPC.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I second this. H2V is a waste of money.

Get Halo: CE, Halo 2 PC is one of the worst console ports I have ever played and I recommend that no one ever buy it.

Thanks fellas...I think I'll stick with XP & pick up HCE. Got my Logitech laser mouse and hoping to pick up one of their G13 speed pads, too. The MacBook Pro keyboard is literally painful to use...the aluminum case and hand geometry are very uncomfortable. Thanks again and see you out there soon...keep an eye out for a terrible 32-year old player named Daddy Biscuits!

Combat Evolved is the way to go. Plays well, and is just a good old classic. Can't go wrong with it.
