I didn't get internet in my home until I went to college and that one was year after Halo 2 launched so I lost 12 plus months of matchmaking.

I've been thinking about the April 15th offline date and after playing one great bomb match in Halo 3 on a re invented Halo 2 map, I decided to stop playing Halo 3 online until April 15 and get as many online matches as I can in Halo 2. See you in the past.

I played Halo 2 the day it came out but didn't get on XBL until 2 months later. I'm doing the same as you though and not playing Halo 3, only Halo 2 until April 15th.

There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?

Same, I got Halo 2 but never had Xbox Live. Something which I didn't get till after the launch of Halo 3, by then my interest in Halo 2 was long out the window. It wasn't till last year that it came off the shelf and into the disk tray of my Xbox 360, only to find online play impossible as I couldn't download the DLC.

Then, last week the DLC came back online. And last night I played my first ever match on Xbox Live with Halo 2, won three games - with a bit of luck.

It's odd, but I don't think it's all to different to Halo 3 online. I can see now, maybe, why people talk higher of 2 rather than 3. Had I got live years ago, maybe the latter wouldn't have been played as much as it has.

Bungie released Halo 2 DLC maps on a disc. I bought it because I didn't have online at the time and I still have it. It also a deleted movie scene from the Halo 2 campaign.

I was at the midnight launch for Halo 2 as well but like yourself I didn't have Xbox live at the time.

It's all about teamwork. :)

I was 15th in line at my Gamestop for Halo 2 out of at least a couple hundred. Like another poster above me, I didn't get my xbox running until January or so. Back then I was in highschool and had to bargain with my grandma to get high-speed internet to get it all rolling.

I got halo 2 the day it came out didn't have live until just last year. So I missed a lot and soon it's gonna be gone.

I got halo 2 the day it came out, and Xbox Live in the next few weeks. Halo 2 made Xbox Live.

I've been trying to play Halo 2 online again but I forgot all about the button glitches players do. I was never any good at doing a double shot or whatever people call it, so I just fired normal and got destroyed half the time.
