I was playing the Library today, and i came across a section where 343 Guilty Spark comments, "The instillation was built specifically to study and contain the Flood. THEIR survival as a race was dependent upon it. I am grateful to see that some of THEM survived to reproduce." When 343 Guilty Spark uses the term "their and them" is he referring to the Forerunner, as their race was dependent upon the containment of the Flood? And when he states that some of them survive to reproduce, is he saying that Master Chief (or any reclaimer, for that matter, such as Miranda and Sarge in Halo 2) is offspring of the Forerunner? If so, that proves the Humans are the descendents of the Forerunner.
Either that, or 343 GS is not referring to the Forerunner at all, and it is the Flood that he is referring to. But, if 343 GS is so worried about containment, then why would he be "grateful" to see them thrive?
(By the way, the quotation is taken from the Library, around level 3 of the instillation. I believe this, because it is on the level before you ride the elevator to the thing that pops up and states: "Level 4: Weapons.....Keys to Superweapons).
These are just thoughts. If you have any comments, please feel free to apply.
