I usually play CTF, but sometimes the games rotate to other types like Team Slayer. Usually I find that there seems to be no pattern to where you spawn in. Last night it was Team Slayer in Danger Canyon. It seemed as if each team originally spawned in near their bases. At one point I came across some team mates in a fire fight with the other team in the center hall in the tunnels. As players died, they seemed to respawn very close to where they died, (same ledge, same doorway, etc). This happened over and over. Later it happened outside with the other team up on one of the ledges in the canyon and we were below.

Is the game designed to spawn you back into the action? In the past I'd felt that it tended to spawn you in away from the action, at least if you'd just been spawn killed, or that it was just random. Does it vary in how it respawns you by which map you're playing on?

Can this be changed by modders? If so, this is a cool mod.

in halo, your respawn is determined by where your team is. if you have one living teamate in the heat of battle, you will most likely spawn near to him, even if it is the same spot you just died

Usually if you have at least one of your teammates on the 'sniper ledge', your team will spawn up on that ledge as well. The other team generally spawns at the base's or in the middle hall.

Useful thing to remember if you're playing KotH on that map!
