I don't understand why Bungie/GB/MSGS doesn't issue some sort of press release in regards to the status of the HEK. Sure it can be as short as "still in testing" but it would make a world of a difference to the community. What we are witnessing here is the epitome of bad customer service, and each of the above listed company in one manner or another is to blame. Does Bungie realize the damage that's being done to their reputation? A reputation they have fought hard to build as well as maintain. GearBox's terrible netcode and Microsoft's marketing ploys aside, this is Bungie's baby. The community, the paying customers, deserve more than this.
