Dont get too wrapped up in the Internet. It's already forgotten about you.

I think Halo 2 has the best maps so far.
There are some classics in H3 to be sure, but H2 is supreme.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Halo 2 maps were more open than halo 3 maps. Plus some of the maps allowed you to go outside the normal game boundaries online.

I loved pretty much all the maps in Halo 2 except tombstone and desolation. Halo 3 I only like maybe 3 maps which is why I don't play the game.

James McJames James > All other clans

I think so, my favorites from Halo 1 have been remade for Halo 2. Also I love the map Ivory Tower, which has not been remade for Halo 3. Halo 3 just seems to lack good Free-For-All maps in my opinion.

My favorite maps of all time are Beaver Creeck, lockout and sanctuary.

I couldn't say if they were all the best or not. I did like some of them, but hated others. I think each game has had some good ones and some bad ones.

This^, to an extent. I think Halo 2 had waaaaaaay more good than bad maps. Id say like an 80% good, 20% eh, split. Halo CE and Halo 3 also have some maps that are my fav over Halo 2 maps, but overall Halo 2 has the most maps that are my absolute favorites.

GOLD BARS MAKE ME RICH

Probably the 2 best maps ever came out of Halo 2

Ascension and Terminal

Ascension is what I would describe as the perfect map. It's my all time favorite Slayer map. The design is simple, but the gameplay is absolutely great, and Tower of Power was so much fun.

Terminal, in terms of complexity is amazing, there are 4 mini areas within the map that skirmishes would take place, and sometimes they would be worlds apart from each other. When I think of Bungie's ability to create interesting maps that are fun to play on and complex, I always look at Terminal. I don't think H3 came close to anything like Terminal.

H3 has Valhalla and Standoff, and those maps are my favorites, but for different reasons.

I just thought Halo 2's Maps were also the perfect remakes of Combat Evolved's classic maps: Wizard into Warlock, Longest into Elongation, Derelict into Desolation, Blood Gulch into Coag, etc.

I thought Lockout, Zanzibar and the other ramakes lost all of their magic on Halo 3.

Agree. Last Resort was the only Halo 2 remake that I really liked. Blackout was okay, Heretic was awful. Avalanche was a good Halo: CE remake but I didn't care for Cold Storage, it's good for customs but bad for matchmaking.

Lurking....waiting to strike!

Not all of them. But yes, most of them were way better than the garbage in H3.

I don't even see why they made cold storage. It's a free map, but it's just a map that nobody likes. Blackout was nothing compared to the original. Everything was pretty much the same, but it just wasn't as good as the original.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Halo 2 was awesome. Same with most of the maps. Couagulation, midship, colossus, lockout, foundation, and most of the other maps. I hated desolation though.

Halo 2 PC also has some decent custom maps. A bunch of H2PC maps are ports of crappy halo 3 maps, but there are lots of good maps like Vertigo, BloodGulch, Halo Mods V3 Beta, and others.

Other then last resort, the halo 3 remakes sucked.

I think midship to be one of the most balanced FPS maps ever but i cant see anthing beating lockout.

Absolutley the Halo 2 maps are the best in the series. Big maps, small maps...they were all great and enjoyable. The maps in H2 just feel "right."
