Yeah, this is a bump. Folks are talking about them again and asking questions, so here are the answers (well, some of them...)

I'm brand new to HALO and multiplayer, but have already had plenty of run-ins with teamkillers of all kinds. Some TK'ers just want to fly the banshee, so they kill me because I got there first. One guy just kept ineptly driving a tank back and forth over my team's transporter spot mid-field in Blood Gulch. (He stopped when I mentioned it.) Sometimes I can tell somebody is just bored. We'll be standing there, and he starts meleeing me just for something to do. Of course, I've seen the TK'ers that run around on top of their own base shooting everyone in the back of the head. Had one of those yesterday, and that guy never got banned, even after dozens of TK's.

The one I don't understand usually happens in this situation: If I need a breather from long periods of intense action (or if someone at my house is trying to talk to me), I'll camp inside the base by my flag for a few minutes. One of my teammates comes down, runs around, then walks up to me and just stares. I move a little so he knows I'm not AFK. Then he just shoots me repeatedly. This is usually someone who has no betrayals. What's going on? Does everyone hate campers so much they can't abide them even on their own team?

May have been a kamikazi...I dunno. If you stand there and let him shoot you till you die, he'll usually leave you alone after that. Or he could just be a loon...

I agree that many TK's are accidents, so I don't retaliate immediately. Other times, though, it's a different story. Yesterday, there was some clown who got in a hog and started circling his own base fast, spawn-killing his own team repeatedly. Eventually, everyone changed teams just to kill him, even though he switched teams, too. He ruined the whole game, and everyone quit.

BUMP! I know policy in the Maw, but as interest has again reared its head with a recent ME=KING rampage, I thought another bumping of this post wouldn't hurt. if a maw admin disapporves of me bumping this post, please IM instead of killing it; I'd like the info to remain available, even if people have to search through the Maw to find it...

Is this a "Jumper?".

A while ago, I was playing danger canyon and a red player stole the flag and ran through the tunnels, with me chasing and shooting. He did the typical thing of setting the flag down when he went around the corner and whipping out his Rocket Launcher to kill me. Except, I ducked his first shot and landed a shotgun blast into his face. I recovered the flag and teabagged his brains out, along with 2 of my team mates we merrily humped him.
He switched to my team and made it his mission to tk me.
Once he had, he swapped back.
I must have really made him mad.

Yes, that was a Jumper, and you're lucky that's all he did. many times they're more insidious than that...and much more persistent.
