Formerly Knight Kninja

A final drive like Halo: CE and 3, only for this one, the planet is being low-range glassed around you by multiple covenant ships. Because the game is actually more free-roam than the others, you should be able to pick from a large variety of paths, making the level much more replayable.

As for the very end of your drive, there would be a point where basically there is a plasma beam too near to you, and the resulting explosion incinerates the back end of the warthog, killing whoever is the gunner. You and the man in the side seat are ejected forward, crashing through the windshield. You look back, start to reach back for them, but realize it's too late. You turn around and begin to run, but there is another beam being charged directly in front of you. you turn around and run back towards the vehicle's corpse, and grab some fire-extinguisher type thing from the side of it. running towards the previous blast zone that has incinerated the ground below you, you spray the extinguisher at the ground in front of you as you run, effectively giving you a path to run on. you reach a small crest, and, realizing that the tank is running out, you spray it in a circle around you.

There you sit, on a solid island, surrounded by molten rocks and fire. the camera pans, with you in the foreground, looking around astounded. you fall to your knees in defeat, and the screen goes black. two seconds of darkness, and you are in first person again, fuzzy vision, eyes blink. you are laying on the ground surrounded by dull brown-black dried lava. the skies are clouded and stormy, but devoid of covenant ships. you get up, and as you look down at your hands pushing yourself off the ground, you see your left arm's armour scorched black. the camera zooms out while you stand there, turning your arm to look at it.

then you look up. a desolate wasteland surrounds you. Nothing is supposed to survive a glassing, but with low-range glassings, there is room for error. looking around, you know there is no hope. there is a beautiful panorama of the ruined planet before you, though. it is dark, and lightning is striking. still zoomed out from first person, your character shakes their head, and begins to spin in a slow circle to look at the destruction around you. They then drop to their knees, head in hands.

Camera gets an aerial view of the wasteland, centered on the character. the video slowly fades to blackness as the camera zooms out from it's viewpoint.

"Find The Bomb?!
Find The Bomb?!
I'm Looking For The Flag!
What The Heck Is Assualt!?"

It is an interesting take, but isn't a tragic death that would really have anything to do with the intimate story of the spartans, but rather the fate of the world as a whole.

And I'm quite certain a fire extinguisher would not be sufficient to cool molten rock.
