o( >.<)o -- Kirby is not amused...
Analysis of the Halo: Reach Multiplayer trailer.
SUBTITLE: Loadouts
This one appears to be a customizable special ability. There were three prominently shown in the trailer.
Sprint - (Icon: Diamond with lightning bolt) Allows for short bursts of running.
Jetpack - (Icon: "pack" outline with an arrow) Allows for temporary levitation/verticality over other players.
Camouflage - (Icon: Halo 1 and Halo 2 Active Camouflage pyramid) Allows for temporary camouflage.
Two more icons designating a special ability were also in the trailer, though the abilities weren't shown... at least, not prominently enough to see their effects.
Icon: Eye - Abilities unknown
Icon: Shield with a lock - Allows for a temporary Overshield?
These abilities are assumed to be reusable. Sprinting is confirmed to be reusable, as is Camouflage.
SUBTITLE: Assassination
Melees executed by holding down the "melee button", displays an elaborate melee attack that kills the enemy player. Special animations, including one that involves climbing on enemy's back and stabbing them or punching them in the neck, and possibly hand to hand combat.
Traditional melees are still present.
Melee weapons are still present (Sword, Gravity Hammer)
---------------------------------------
SUBTITLE: Invasion
Gametype (as seen on the HUD in bottom right corner) involving an invasion of players. Speculation gives the idea of a "player vs. AI" sort of battle. Vehicles are included.
---------------------------------------
SUBTITLE: Headhunter
Gametype (inferred) which the player achieves points by getting headshots (also inferred, not comfirmed). Getting a headshot will cause the enemy to drop 10** (based from trailer) flaming skulls.
Possibly a variation of SWAT.
---------------------------------------
SUBTITLE: Spartans vs. Elites
Gametype (inferred) which pits Spartans against Elites. Players may be fighting AI** (unknown) or possibly be fighting other players.
Unknown if Elites have any benefits over Spartans or vice versa.
---------------------------------------
SUBTITLE: The Arena
Unknown. Possibly a map or gametype. Implies a Slayer-based game.
---------------------------------------

Gametypes:
Slayer - free-for-all/team-based gametype. Kill enemy players to score points. Score limit is assumed to be 50 kills, after which will end the game.
King of the Hill - a designated area on the map is " the Hill " . Players must fight for it to gain time. Possibly a free-for-all AND/OR a team-based variant.
Capture the Flag - team-based game. Teams must fight to obtain the enemy flag and reach a score point.
Invasion - gametype with unknown objectives. A nav point is displayed at certain areas (possibly players), implying a possible " VIP " variant. Most likely a team-based (team colors are Purple and Green, possibly a Spartan vs. Elite styled game)
Invasion Slayer - Combination of Invasion and Slayer gametypes. Slayer in the name implies killing to score points.
Headhunter - gametype involving headshots. Scoring points probably requires headshots. Causes a large number of flaming skulls to come from a player ' s body if a headshot. Possibly a Juggernaut-styled variant, where players must kill the lead player to obtain points.
Destruction** (inferred from bottom right corner and HUD text) - destruction based objective, where there are generators on the map designated as " A " or " C " . Possibly an Assault variant.
---
HUD Redesign:
Shield indicator and Health - top middle of screen. Shield flashes red, has " WARNING! " label when fully depleted. Health is assumed to return.
Compass - below the Shield Indicator. Possibly just for looks, but may have a nav point marker similar to ODST.
Grenades - top left screen. Possible to carry 4 frags and 4 plasma " stickies " . Reorganized to fit left side of screen, lists downwards instead of going across horizontally.
Motion Sensor (aka Radar) - bottom left of screen. Functions like previous games. 25 meter spread. Enemies appear as red, allies as yellow
Special Ability - bottom left, above Motion Sensor. Displays icon of special ability, as well as the " recharge bar " , for usage. Used by pressing the " Special Ability button " similar to Equipment in Halo 3.
Callouts** (name unknown) - bottom left, right of Motion Sensor. Displays current location of the map. Next to the Motion Sensor. Has names like " Smelter Hall " and " Smelter Skylights " . Also has " In the Air "
Ammo indicator - top right of screen, functions similarly to previous games. Flashes red when empty/low/reloading/overheating
Secondary weapon - top right screen, above ammo indicator, faded slightly. Displays secondary weapon.
Score - bottom right. Displays the gametype, as well as the score of the leader, the amount of time remaining in the game, and of the player. If teams, displays the highest scoring team, and the player ' s teamMedals - bottom middle of screen, shows medals such as those in Halo 2, 3, and ODST.
HUD text ** (unknown name) - left side, positioned in the middle of the screen. Displays kills, time remaining, and other such things as previous games. Ammo pickups most likely not counted. Specifies the kills the player does such as " You killed ____ with a headshot. " Also says medal names, as well as other such things such as " Revenge " when killing the player that killed you.
---------------------------------------
Other stuff:
Diving** (unknown, describes action) - causes the player to roll towards direction (possibly restricted to only forward movement, also possible to be only coupled with Sprint Special Ability)
Respawn via Dropship???
Recoil is now displayed by reticule size/crosshairs. Makes guns either more difficult or more accurate. Possible countermeasure to " spraying "
Armor permutations available (though Beta may be restricted).
Things from previous games have carried over, like destructible vehicles and the " falling animation "
Possible ragdoll physics.
Many scenes of gameplay have Spartans vs. Elites which may force players to have a specific character model. Probably done to offset the hitbox issues
Trailer shows 6 vs. 6 player battles. Possible raise to the " max players " in multiplayer.
All maps appear to be new, and not remakes.
