I think Bungie did a pretty good job with it, A lot of people didn't. What's your opinion and what would you have changed about it?

The campaign was exciting, but it didn't really pull me in as well as I would have liked. For me, i couldn't really place myself as the rookie because he didnt have ANY personality. I think how they gave the master chief a backstory and a couple of one-liners was a perfect balance of intimacy and keeping it vague enough that most people can relate. But the rookie was like a robot.

Firefight is one of the best things about ODST. It was a great way to mix things up. Although, i would have really enjoyed a multiplayer component.

The audio logs were a good way to keep the game interesting and I was actually pulled in to that story a little more than the main storyline at times. that's soemthing that they should definitely have an equivilent to in Reach. (Or something like the terminals in H3)

If i could add/change 1 thing to/about ODST, I would change the campaign. I'd add some more backstory on the squad maybe even a level with the whole team together. And i'd make it a little longer.

if could add 1 thing to the halo 3 multiplayer disc, I would add a full map editor. the sales would have practically doubled. It's something everyone's wanted for a long time and it would have given a lot of people a lot better of a reason for shelling out $60.00 for it.

Sorry for all the criticism Bungie, I only say it because I love you.

All of it. ODST flat out sucked.

The Beta will give it some worth, but after that it will be the worst disc available for purchase.

Signatures are for squares.

It'd be cool if they gave it a multi player, it'd ALMOST be worth the 60$. But then it would still be inferior to H3 Multi.

The only things I'd change are the following:

1- More places than just Mambasa! In Halo I'm used to multiple enviroments! Not being stuck in one city!

2- Make matchmaking an optional option for campiagn and firefight! (because seriously, sometimes it's annoying as hell getting people to do endure and deja vu.)

3-Audiologs. I don't mind searhing mombasa for the next mission but I REALLY don't want to search for annoying audiologs that don't even seem to make sense.

4- What happened to them all? They all got on the ship and flew away, it didn't even show the rookie. No epilogue or anything. Did their phantom get blown up? Did they get the endineer to safety? ANYTHING?

Other than that I loved the game.

In my personal opinion, ODST was a great game, though it didn't have much of replayability as Halo 3, it had perfect ingredients, also it was the best balanced Halo, but I think some things could change.

1) More character in the rookie

2) Make matchmaking or custom games

3) Make the Visor USABLE, some parts in the game the visor isn't really usable because of the sun, and it goes up to bright.

I liked ODST, and thought it was a great game with good characters, and was definitely worth it.

I may be alone in this, but I wouldn't change a single -blam-ing thing about ODST. IMO, it's the best Halo since the first one.

Ok, there is one thing. I'd have the sniper kill all brutes but Cheiftans with one headshot.

flight:throwing yourself at the ground and missing.

i would change it to be 20 dollars i mean i know microsoft set the price and that bungie wanted to but still as i played throught the awesomeness and it cam to an end i was almost like is that all? I belive that it was a decent legth campagn and fire fight but when you compare it to halo you just camp and yes i know allready it was supposed to be an add on

you hate this man for expressing his oppinion? Isn't that what Hitler did?

"Dude, what are you doing right now?"
"Uhh... Heh, my mom."
"Dude... What?"

I found Halo 3: ODST quite enjoyable. The storyline wasn't as long as planned, yet it held the right amount of mystery to ask: "What's going on here?" and made me dig further.

What most people don't realize is that this isn't a new game entirely, but rather a backstory itself of a different character, New Mombasa. Now I'm not saying the game was amazing, but it held it's own for a while. It showed the relationships between Marines, and how even the smaller man [or woman] can kick some ass.

If I could change ODST in any way, I'd both:

1. Make Firefight a Matchmaking variable.

&

2. Allow a "Skulls on/off" option for Firefight. I hate having to work with the skulls I hate so friggin' much.

I don't like ODST. The graphics and gameplay disappointed me. However, I think Reach will be better.

graphics are not everything halo 1 doesn't look as good as halo 3 or ODST but people still play it cuz of gameplay and story

I loved just about everything in ODST.

If the Campaign were just a wee bit longer, I wouldn't have paid no mind.

But Firefight was awesome, and the multiplayer disc was a nice touch.

Can't wait to pop this in again when the Beta hits early May.

I think he was talking to honour roller.

  • 03.04.2010 7:51 AM PDT

a matchmakeing with slayer type games. and another thing is that there was supposed to be all this carnage and death and you realy dont see any of that. one more thing we dropped with 50 or more odst marines.... where were they all?

  • 03.04.2010 9:57 AM PDT

There is? Kool, I'll be sure to watch it when I beat the game on legendary then. :)

Still, I hate the audiophiles. -.-

I like it. It was just too damn expensive, would've been fairer to be priced like $40. If I hadn't been a loyal fan and bought all the extra maps it would've been worth it too.

Only non-price complaint was campaign was a little boring if I wasn't doing co-op.

Reach should have both firefight and multiplayer, with the maps shared between theme. Firefight is a good throw in that I hope gets rolled onto future titles.

Well, that about covers it.

Aside from all that's been posted, I would've added 4 player split screen to campaign. If not possible then fire fight. Halo 3 did have 4 player campaign through a glitch, but it worked great till Cortana came on the screen. Firefight would've been great with 4 player couch co-op.
