ANYONE AT BUNGIE READING THIS, please put a play dead command in Halo 2. I mean, think about it guys, how cool would that be. And if you could incorporate a pedal bike, that would be sweet (just kidding on the pedal bike, but couldn't be more serious about the play dead command.)

Hold on MC65 prophets cant ripe apart a hunter. The book was talking about the brutes, not the prophets. Read the chapter again, it says it clearly.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I want to know why the covies dont just glass earth instead of invading it. The only reason I can think of is that there is
A. Forerunner technology
or
B. The covies like a good challange every now and then

Well into my third year playing Halo, and I've never seen the Halo card game. Then again, I didn't even think about checking out the Bungie site until like two weeks ago. But about the card game, is it like Magic? (Magic the Gathering was a card game that was popular a few years ago, I still play if you got some good cards sittin' around.)

Haha - Try opening the thing up and reading it. It's quite an unusual concept, you have to print out the pages, fold, glue and trim. Then, and this is the novel part, you TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER. I know it sounds tough, and that's the part of the game which most people can't get past. Give it a go and if you get stuck drop me a line!

Note to everyone: That is not a picture of a Covenant Engineer, it is a picture of a flood form that got cut and pasted into a picture from their E3 2000 video.

Well, the book was right about one thing. Them engineers aint Bipeds. ha. I Didn't think they actually looked like that cos i saw on a site once (sorry but it was a halo mod site) a pic of a white mc with an Engineer on a stick. It looked sweet but i never knew bungie had an Engineer pic, i thought the ppl on the site thought of it themselves.

I would post the address of the site but then i'd be spammin or somthin.
Oh and did bungie ever reveal how prophets fight. Do they use firearms or do they have like telekinetic powers?

Agreed. This is no Engineer. If you look at the simple fact that MC has a pistol then yo'ud soon realise (the pistol won't be in Halo2). Also, the HUD is the same as Halo's, and the will be a new HUD in Halo2. Both of these facts point to the fact that the screenshot is from Halo, and there was no Engineer present there. Obviously early Flood on the "Keyes" level.

The engineer shots were found by a guy called BOLL in the commercial release of Halo CE. They were taken out by Bungie at the last minute. More shots here:

I go around the world leaving a path of destruction in my wake. When I come to a city, grown men cry and women wail. I collect the skulls of my enemies and display them for all to see.........I also kick puppies. For fun.

i dont think thats what the engineers look like, cause remember keyes was inside a giant mass of what looked like some kind of flood creature in halo 1.

I think that the Covies are on some huge quest to destroy some other enemy because on the last page of First Strike, the Prophet of Truth says, "soon the great journey will begin.... and let nothing in this universe stand in our way."

And about the Hunter's great tactical brilliance, they seem really stupid in the game, and they act kind of barbaric in the books.

Also I think the weapon the Brutes have is a grenade launcher because in First Strike, Grace (a surviving Spartan) is blown apart from behind while MC deals with another Brute.

Commercial break: GIVE ME HALO 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally I agree about the Covies having weapons thats they are vulnerable to. Thats kinda dumb.

Oh, and the engineers are really weird in the books they repair MC's weapons and stuff. Its like they don't care who the enemy is. They just wanna do their job.

Those Pictures are interesting. Can anyone at BUNGIE, "cough cough" please clarify for us???

Those creatures seem to have backpacks that could hold tools and the like. The flood in Halo 1 only carried weapons and broken limbs..... interesting..

Oh yeah, Frankie, thanks for the Article!

Holy crap I think Thos is right about them engineer pics, I mean come on once you take a look at them, you see 3 eyes on each side of the protruding face like structure... and then some sort of i guess power pack or tool pack on his side, and the arms of which "First Strike" novel explains about the engineers so maybe this is a pic of an ealryengineer but im guessing they hopefully will improve upon them.. it looks a little greety to me. But good job hunting donw those pics Thos!

we have the bungie founders who are the prophets... physically weak, but utterly brilliant! the rest of the grizled ancients who are the elites and the backbone of the bungie world domination force... not always the most loyal, but with out the genious of their leaders wouldn't have a job!

and then we have the other guys who make up the rest of the bungie force. (Old School and middle school) they are just like the Hunter, brute, jackle classes... not quiet equals to their superiors, but there is definatley a benifit to their mutual accomidations with these higher/ lower lifeforms..

and of course we have the grunts.. that is to say the humble newbies to the bungie team. we know them as Frank O'conner, Bart House, Rob Stokes, Pete Person, and the such..
not reealy brilliant, but without their sheer tanacity, the bungie team wouldn't be were it is today!

The article didn't say they ONLY belive in the forerunners, it said the thought of them as "god-like". I don't think they would be against using anything to crush those in their path.

so if the covenant worship the forerunners or their "state of being" and 343 is the care-taker of forerunner technology, then can we expect cooperation between the covenant and guilty spark in Halo 2.
Also, the books make the brutes sound powerful, more then hunters, but in the E3 demo MC just whoops one like nothing.
since there is some animosity between species in the covenant, how about the grunts joining our side that would be sweet. they could be like dogs, fighting alongside their human friends.
