Well seems that Microsoft send the emails and gifts totally random, we need to do something, is there an email for Microsoft for this things? Can Bungie do something if we write here?

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

I noticed that most of the people who didn't get the email had their accounts banned at one point in time. Was your live account banned for any reason in the past few years?

  • 03.07.2010 1:17 PM PDT

yeah dude i am banned from matchmaking so i didnt get one but my brother got one because never got banned.

It is called winning something. It was basically a give away. If you don't win the lotery for money, what are you going to do about it? Send them an email telling them that they should give everyone a million dollars? No you wouldn't, so stop complaining.

  • 03.07.2010 2:50 PM PDT

Its not a give away, Its a compensation because Microsoft will shut down Halo 2 (and every Xbox Original title) and we cant play anymore.

  • 03.07.2010 2:57 PM PDT

If they wanted everyone to get it, they wouldn't have gave it away randomly. One of the representative guys at microsoft said it was randomly given. That means it is a give away.

  • 03.07.2010 3:04 PM PDT

I want the link.

  • 03.07.2010 3:06 PM PDT

Search it up on microsoft's twitter, or go ask anyone else here on the forums.

  • 03.07.2010 3:07 PM PDT

I dont see anything like thst in Microsoft twitter.

  • 03.07.2010 3:13 PM PDT

I meant to ask them on twitter. That is how everyone knows it is random.

  • 03.07.2010 3:14 PM PDT

And why random? they shutdown a service to get people angry and then they give random gifts randomly to get more people angry? That no makes sense.

it seems like anyone who hasn't played since 2009, looking at your games you've played the majority of your games in 2008. I have close to 6000 gmaes played and no email becuase i moved on and stopped playing entirely in 2008. but meh it's just a thought.

i have a total of 8 games played on this account.and i got the MS points.i have another old account thats has atleast two years of playing time in halo 2...

the surest way to remain poor is to be honest lulz

I've played a lil' over 100 games of H2, about 5 one night within the past month and I got it

they sent random e-mails to people who've played it recently plain and simple, I was assuming they will send out more batches so I haven't seen an official statement ANYWHERE

  • 03.07.2010 8:23 PM PDT

My understanding is that they are just randomly sending out emails to people.

Also Bungie has no control over this, its a Microsoft thing. You may have better luck asking your questions on their site.

No, I know people who play Halo 2 in 2007 last time and they have the email and gifts.

Really, this thing no makes sense.

That seems like it is the pattern. However, there are exceptions. People who haven't played in years have claimed to have gotten the email.

As for me, I played 1 game on Feb. 16th, 2010 (on this account), and I didn't get the email. I also have several thousand games played on my original xbox account from 2004 to 2006, and I didn't get an email for that either.

I just thought of something. I live in Quebec, where they have very strict (i.e. stupid) rules regarding prizes and the like.

Any Quebecers here? If so, did you guys get the email?

Bummer i've received my 400MS but not the 3 months of Xbl. and this for just 3 or 4 matches of Halo2, 2 months ago

  • 03.09.2010 6:07 AM PDT

Real fish might hurt human body. Soffish 100% Harmless! Do not eat!

Yeah I kinda wonder if they're going 3 months back, then 6, then so on. I mean it cant be completely random, had to get the names somehow, because otherwise you would have to pay more, and they dont want to pay more people than they have to.
