OK I am getting a PC, and I want it to be able to run Halo PC with all the effects on and not skip frames even in the biggest battles. I have the following parts so far (I got them cheap heehee):

CPU: Athlon 64 2800
Video Card: Radeon 9800 Pro

OK thats what I have so far, but in my limited knowledge of PC hardware I know that they are very good parts without overspending. Can anyone suggest what other parts I should get (I don't need things like a monitor, speakers, keyboard or mouse).

Make sure that it's compatible with those two. And not too expensive.

probably a ASUS or GIGABYTE motherboard would suit you well. Since the socket 754 (how many little pins are on the back of your cpu which is 754) does not support dual channel ram, it would be best for you to grab 512mb or more of pc3200 that has a CAS latency of 2 (dont worry, just ask the people when you buy it, they will tell you what it has, and the package you get it in should also have that info on it). Everything else is up to you. The integrated sound on motherboards has come along way, and most can do 5.1 surround sound. Things like hard drives, rom drives etc are your discrepency and how much money you have in your pocket. The last thing I suggest is to get a power supply of at least 400watts for saftey's sake. Thats about all I can think of. Hope Ive been some help (and not to confusing ;)

to put in simpler terms, just get a mother board as "let me live" says for intel and make sure u get a cpu (intel processor) at least 2-3 ghz (3 if u want the best computer) and (important)) make sure u get a ATX motherboard because a lot of things sold in stores for custom computers are made for ATX motherboards .
Get a ATX 12V 500W Power supply from microcenter for 79 bucks which has wires and stuff (simple terms) to produce a nice computer want more info contact me at john6513310@sbcglobal.net if u want to know more of how to make a nice comp. (i have been making custom computers and made at least 18 and 6 are high performance uptodate which only cost me 1245 bucks to make better than dell XPS desktop for 3000 bucks
