Just wondering, is spam pretty much illegal? Like as far as pming goes? If so should we be reporting it, because there are still a lot of chapters that spam, and perhaps some people don't know that it is wrong and need to be stopped, either by warnings or if they are smart they will just stop.

Spam isn't illegal. Unsolicited e-mail with no unsubscribe link is.

If you're getting PM spam, please message SketchFactor and let him know who's spamming you. He'll take care of it.

Sorry if someone is pestering you.

Ya when people spam me, usually they are rookies. So I nicely tell them that it is against the code of conduct and to please stop. More often than not I get very vulgar responses (mostly immature 11 year-olds) so I report and blacklist them. But I usually tell them to please stop before I report them. But basically everyone in the column knows how much I loathe spam and I rarely get spammed anymore.

You can easily block people with your ignore list who spam your PM.

That is generally going to be the best solution.

But, sending spam is an offense that is punishable by me banning the spammer's sorry butt from bungie.net. I might give a warning, but I don't have to, and with spamming, I'm thinking I won't - I'll just boot the offender.

And hes all out of bubble gum...

I'm glad Achronos responded to this so now things are clearer to me. I don't want to get a new user banned because he doesn't know whats right and whats wrong, so I won't report any one unless hey spam me a second time after I tell them it is wrong.

Yeah, LK i forgot about the trusty ignore list. Thats all we have to to do! We don't have to get them banned and get them disiprited for Halo 2! Just put them on ignore. Damn, achronos, thanx for the reminder!

He's talking about the 11 year olds who do spam.

Note he said immature 11 year olds. It's up to you to decide whether you're gonna fit in that category.

The War will wage forever; though with it's fury comes a peace that you will never know here.

Spam through PMing isnt illegal. It's just incredibly annoying. If it's just one message from one guy, just politely tell him that you're too bogged down with all the chapters that you're in now.

However, if you are spammed repeatedly through PMs, either blacklist the person from your list or, and Shiska said, notify Sketchfactor or Achronos. Either of them will take care of the problem for you.
