After a few weeks of not having any friends online who have ODST, I think that there should be an add-on so that you can search for people to play Firefight with. Kind of like Matchmaking searches for Halo 3, except for ODST.

maybe more of a server list like a pc game it is faster to find games you want and with few people happy with odst I dout that the halo 3 system would find matchs

They wont add matchmaking to odst firefight. It takes too much work and they are working all they can on reach now to make it the best halo game ever. Just wait for reach and maybe it will include firefight with matchmaking.

Ok, but do you think it was a good idea at first?

It would be useful but the problem is updating the game to be compatible with a new server built from scratch add that in and that would take a good chunk of people and time. Yes a matchmaking for Firefight would help but I'd prefer all their attention devoted on Reach.

I think a matchmaking system would be good for those that like playing Firefight but can't find good teammates to play with. I wouldn't use it though, because there is no way to know if the players with whom you're matched up are in to play for a long time, just to 200k, or just to mess with other people. Wouldn't it be completely horrible if you were playing for the Endure achievement and one griefer quit during the bonus round of set 4?

I don't think the mechanics of Firefight (shared lives, one person quits means that the mission is over) are conducive to matchmaking for random people. If there was time, Bungie would have found a way to work around this. Unless Bungie fundamentally changed how Firefight works in ODST, I wouldn't use a patch for matchmaking.

If you want to play Firefight with other people, there are many private groups on Bungie.net that still play Firefight on a regular basis. (I'd name them but that would be against the rules of the forum.)
