I was about 9/10. I'm not really sure but I know I was in Primary school.
I can remember going to the bank with my brother and my mum to get the money to buy the xbox. Me and my brother split it £60 each. I was unbelievably excited as It was my first console and I had relatives that had one. My first game for it wasn't Halo. I bought Midtown Madness, Burnout 3 and other classic xbox originals.
My cousin came round with Halo CE and he sold it to me for £5. The moment I stepped out of the Drop Pod onto the Halo ring, I was indulged in Halo CE. It was one of my first console FPS's and still remains my favourite. I played through the missions in split screen with my brother. I can still remember how scary and confusing the level 343 Guilty Spark was late at night. We couldn't find the way out of the structure so we stopped playing for that night.
After we had finally accomplished that level we were faced with The Library. I died over and over again trying to even get passed the first stage ( Bear in mind I was young ). I had friends try and complete the level for me but they failed.
Years later I remembered that I never actually beat Halo CE even after completing Halo 2, 3, and ODST. I played it on the 360 so I had to do all the missions again but replaying the missions made me relive those past times and when I drove that Warthog to the ship at the end of The Maw and flew out of harms way, I felt that I had fully experienced all that is Halo.
I'm 15 now and Reach doesn't even give the sense of awe that the first 3 games did.
