Warning: Life story inbound. TL;DR version at the bottom.
I was around six years old. I played Halo: Combat Evolved a few months after it came out, much to the dismay of my parents. In 2005, five years after the PC version came out, I jumped for the $20 opportunity. After that, Halo 2 was released. I didn't have Xbox Live, so I couldn't play online, but every time we had guests over, I'd help set up the LAN party. 2007, same year as Halo 3, I got into creating custom content for Halo: Custom Edition. I never made anything worthwhile, but it was fun to learn 3D modeling, texturing, and animating. We got Halo 3 a few weeks after release and had a blast with our new consoles and Xbox Live service. Then Halo Wars. Being a PC player, I've had my fingers around a handful of RTS games that kept me entertained for a while. Halo Wars was something else. It was unique. 2009, pre-order for Halo 3: ODST. Best campaign since the first game, in my opinion. 2010, I pre-ordered Halo: Reach. I liked the Beta, I figured I would love the campaign. Not the best campaign, but certainly one to call your own. Now, I wait impatiently for Halo 4, waiting to see if 343 is up to the task of continuing the legacy that I've been alongside for a lifetime.
TL;DR Version: I was six when it was released in 2001. That's the first time I've played it, and I've been with the series ever since.
