Actually, I wrote this as a joke for a friend several months ago well before I read First Strike and showed it to him. He took it and immediately posted it on www.theprpboard.com and then transferred it to this board www.nightly.net. Although it's not real, please take into account that I wrote it in about two hours of downtime at my job and it was just to be considered a complete joke. The people at Team Xbox didn't like the joke very much though.

Everyone can read it, I'm certain it bares very little resemblance to a lot of the games events and actually this is the first time I've read it since then, funny.

It's an old rumor, very old, in fact. It's not very well written, they didn't even try, I don't think, to make it Halo 2 calibre writing.

That, and it was confirmed fake a long time ago.

Come on Shishka, it's not that bad. Granted it's not Nylund, but he's not Follet or Grisham and I only had two hours, a trailer and a demo to go on at the time. Not bad for a fan, going on memory.

the very fact that u heard it from a beta tester is wrong all the are bungie employies(arnt they) that have probly worked way to hard to give away secrets so anyone that tells u they're a beta tester is probly lying

either that or they're breaking a confidentiality contract and ninjas are probly about to assasinate them

Read my post right before yours and then edit your post. I told my friend that a beta tester for the game had sent me the inside scoop on the campaign mode well before Frank O'Conner was even an employee for Bungie. He posted it to this site here:

http://www.theprpboard.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=373 98&highlight=halo

And then I, thinking it was funny and wondering how believable it would sound this early in the game posted it here:

http://www.nightly.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=56; t=006857#000000

And then it got around a little bet and I confessed to my friends on all the boards and came clean. I'm surprised it's still popping up despite the fact that a lot of what Frank has hinted at isn't even in the "beta version" listed and that Bungie only allowed certain employees to test certain elements of the game at certain times. This story is a completely fake because I made it, I just didn't think it would garner the spotlight in this way since it was only a joke and not a plausible one at that.

I know we all know its fake, and the story isnt even straight. I read a bit and "There are hundreds of halos, and Covenant havent stepped foot on any of them" and yet they fly this 'recon' ship to one, and there are covenant everywhere.. haha.

I don't mean to defend my fabricated story but...

I'd have to re-read it but I believe it says that there are hundreds of Halos throughout the galaxy, many of which the Covenant have not even found (something semi-confirmed by Frank's "Top Story" tonight). The Halo the Marines go to has some significance and is fortified like the Covenant, and probably like many Halos. I don't see where that makes it null that there are hundreds of Halos throughout the galaxy that the Covenant have not located.

the story line for halo 2 is probably as heavily guarded as is the -blam!- that comes out of the pentagon. not a hope that's real...is says nothing about anything new that hasn't been realsed except the so called "hornet" that is similar to a banshee, well i i've seen alot of posts about people wanting a vehicle like that so thats a no brainer. someone simply took what new things have been realsed by bungie and built a lame as story around it that mirrors halo 1's story. not to say that halo 1's story is lame by any means, its just that if halo 2's story is a mirror of halo 1 then yes that would be lame. also, a long time ago there was a forum that had a Q&A with a bungie employee that took questions and aswered them as much as he was allowed too. one of the questions was "what kind of levels are to be expected in halo 2" and he answer somthing like earth, another halo and the moon. and i don't see a moon level in the supposed story line. so don't belive that dribble. use your heads and don't fall into the "but i heard this from someone" or "someone told me" its a disease that spreads faster than the flood.

Dear god, is any one going to read anything I've posted on this thread.

all good reasons but you only have to say its DUMB the story has nothing to do with someof the things bungie has said like low gravity and moons and covenant homeworlds and lots of others its DUMB it was a waste of time reading it.

Actually Bungie never said anything about moons, only "low gravity" environments, which are included in the story. So who is DUMB now?

This is a fake story people because I wrote it. By having not read my aforementioned posts before posting, how can you criticize my writing on something which was well prior to Weekly Updates and the released screens or the Game Informer article. It was a shot in the dark, and I'll stand by it as an interesting shot the dark. I don't need a bunch of 13 year-olds trying to refute it because they're not able to scroll down and read that it's been confirmed as a fake.
