Ok, so here I am, in my room doing one of my 4 in the morning Halo sessions. I'm playing Two Betrayals, and I come to that really annoying door which explodes and thus a banshee cannot go through. I'm thinking, since there are so many explorations, tricks, glitches... (whatever you call them) out there, maybe I can figure out how to push a banshee through the door?

I gave up on this after half an hour or so, because it just wasn't happening - at least, not in single player. But I decided why not... I'll go grab a ghost; they're thin. So I did, and at first I tried ramming it into the door. I imagine Cortana was laughing at me, or otherwise very frustrated.

So I finally go backwards, and back up into the crack that you're supposed to walk through, except the front is stuck. Weeelll.... this is easily remedied. I grabbed a plasma grenade and a rocket launcher, and came back to my sandwiched pal here. I stuck the plasma on the right wing, sort of in the middle (I doubt it matters where) and watched it blow up, sending the ghost sideways for a second or two. Click goes the right trigger. Boom goes the ghost. And voila, it is through.

That's not the trick. Getting a ghost through is easy enough. The thing is, though... when I flew it through the room after the broken door (with the huge drop and the single bridge on the right), the flood were apparently on their lunch break. No one was there. Hmmz, went I.

Next I opened the door leading outside, and followed through the tunnels leading outside, preparing to make a mad dash (which was better than the typical on foot dash, cause i had a ghost!). Except... there was no reason to. No one was there.
So I hover on over to the ammo camp with every gun ever, next to the cave. *Silence* I think the covenant and flood don't like me.

Last resort! After a little driving I got to the end place where there's a Covenant army with wraiths and everything, and you pick up the banshee to go forth and destroy the last pulse generator. And guess what? No one was there. Not even the banshees. The entire place was totally deserted, and I have a feeling it wasn't because I chose the wrong stick of deodorant.

Well... I went back to the big pit of death room, and the doors closed on me. Yay. Then, after crossing the bridge, the flood showed up and everything went back to normal.
So.... since I've never seen this before, is this new to anyone, or do you all know about the disappearing dudes and don't even bother saying it?

If you knew this, I'm really, really sorry for wasting your time. Try to go easy on me, though... this is my first discovery ;P

P.S, I just got a warthog through, yay! The same thing happens.

That's an interesting 'glitch'. I might try that next time I get around to Halo!

When you say the 'Pit of Death' room...I get lost. What is that place? I presume that the door that you're talking about is the BIG blast door, which breaks when you approach it...after the ?second? pulse generator?

Anyway...thanks...gives me something to do in the game :D.

Yeah, the "pit of death" room is the one right after the blast door which falls apart after the second generator. There's only one bridge to the right, and I guess if you cross it via vehicle it prevents the rest of the enemies/vehicles/weapons from loading. However, there are 2 dead flood with some shotgun ammo and pistol rounds lying next to the cave.

I wish I had a capture card so I could show you... the reason I call it that is because the middle of the room is one gigantic crevace. You'll know it when you see it (to make it even more obvious, it's the first room after you go into the really big tunnel once you crash the second generator.) You were right though, it's the room after that *evil* door.

Yeah, I think I know what you're talking about. Thanks...can't wait to use the TV! Always wanted a purpose to play Halo again :D. lol.

Thanks.

Must admit, never heard about this before. I usually fly down to that door with the Banshee, never usually use the Ghost.

Before you go into the tunnell, that leads to the door, you can roam around to find a ghost. But I'd advise that you clear it out first...you don;t want to get wasted by the rocket launchers :|.

If you go in there without a vehicle, and you come back out for one...I've found that they disappear. But I think there is a ghost just in the corner, before you go to the door...not sure though.

Yeah, there's a ghost right at the end of the rocky part / beginning of metal forerunner-ness part, and just bring the warthog down to the end and activate the door, then walk back to teh ghost.

Oh, and if you want to get a warthog through, you need to have a ghost still on the starting side. Put it in front of the door, but to the right a little, and have the hog roll off the ghost's seat, so you crash into the crack when you're sideways. This is really really hard to do... I did it once, then I've been trying to do it again for the past hour. Anyway, once you're in, get in the driver's seat of the hog and wiggle it out of the door. (I learned about that getting a hog into the silent cartographer security room, cause I thought it would help survive the 5 or 6 fallsyou have to go through, but it didn't :P)

Falls, with a Warthog in 'The Silent Cartographer'? I know of a few, but they're not compulsory...and the area that has multiple levels, you can't get the Warthog through the door in the first place :S.

You must still play it a lot :D.

Sorry. You know the place where you have to deactivate the security door, and its guarded by hunters (when you press the button you get attacked by invisible elites, yay)? If you keep going forward after the button you come to a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig drop (this is where foehammer flies down later when you're done with the level), and I'm pretty sure no one can get down there.

Frogblast has an article on it:
http://yuan.ecom.cmu.edu/utfoo/mission/security.htm

So I'm trying to get down there in single player too, but I have no idea how. All I know is I have a warthog down there.

Ahh...okay, I know what you're talking about! You really know your Halo!

That's funny, a Halo related page...well, all halo really, on a Educational domain name...that's funny :D.

lol, I guess... I was actually thinking about writing a guide to some of the tricks and stuff you can do in Halo, but I can only explain so much without pictures (as you can see). I have Halo PC, but it's on a laptop and the graphics are... well... yeah.
My personal favorite trick is going down to the "bottom" of halo. It's a wonderful place to crash warthogs in co-op, if you're into making them go crazy spins and stuff.
Read on.

Why don't you make a site? Who cares if the graphics are crap? As long as you can make them out.

I didn't think that you could play Co-Op in the computer version...or do you have both?

I do have both, along with CE. But... I'm like an only child... and I'm still on a laptop so I can't play that well in internet games. Sometimes my cousins come over and we lan until someone dies, or until mom yells at us :P (other than that I don't get much multiplayer time)

Besides, I know a little HTML and Java, and those don't help tremendously in the constructing of a modern site...

Well, as far as I see it. If you want to create a website. It doesn't matter how good or bad it looks, just as long as people can easily access the content, and you get the message across.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I've got 56K Dial-Up, and Halo online has too much lag for that sort of connection.

HTML's fairly simple, you can search for tutorials, and JavaScript isn't exactly required in a website (Java is extremely advanced). But hey, Where there's a Will, There's a Way ;). I think you'd do good presenting all these glitches you've found!

But, back on topic. When do you think Halo 2 is really coming out? 24th of August? or 9th of November? It's insanity in the Halo 2 forums, along with the 'ilovebees.com' site...I rekon they're sticking with November 9, personally...

I've been reading about 'The Tower' in The Blood Gulch...you know anything about it?

I'm not talking script... I took AP computer science last year, and they switched it from C++ to Java :P It's very useful, but not for making pages (unless I feel like throwing an applet in for no reason...)

God, the Blood Gulch tower is close to, if not impossible to get to. If you wanna do it, here's what you need. Get a tank, and put it next to the tower (you probably know what it is, the single column rising up, pic here and a ghost. Fly up the tank with it ,and if you're going fast enough you can get catapulted up the wall and to teh top of the tower. That's all it is, really... just a matter of positioning the tank right.

And the ilovebees thing is out of control, I agree. I hope there'll be a single player demo released on August 24, like some people suggest, but the game itself won't be shipped until the 9th of November *sigh*. There are actually some interesting puzzles up, like there's a picture on the site we believe to contain a hidden message, but no one knows the password to unlock it. I'm currently working on that as well as the guide o' tricks ^_^

Hmm..a password? Where would you put it in? Enter it, whatever?

About 'The Tower'. I'm in Australia, and I've got the PAL version. I don't know what you've got, but in all the matches that I've played in that map, I've never noticed a potrusion from the level like that!

ok, back
I don't think the PAL version would be any different... look around some more is my only advice, but what do I know?

You have to get a program called stegbreak, which decrypts the image depending on the password. And so far, we don't have the right one :P Someday we will, oh well.
