Ok, so here I am, in my room doing one of my 4 in the morning Halo sessions. I'm playing Two Betrayals, and I come to that really annoying door which explodes and thus a banshee cannot go through. I'm thinking, since there are so many explorations, tricks, glitches... (whatever you call them) out there, maybe I can figure out how to push a banshee through the door?
I gave up on this after half an hour or so, because it just wasn't happening - at least, not in single player. But I decided why not... I'll go grab a ghost; they're thin. So I did, and at first I tried ramming it into the door. I imagine Cortana was laughing at me, or otherwise very frustrated.
So I finally go backwards, and back up into the crack that you're supposed to walk through, except the front is stuck. Weeelll.... this is easily remedied. I grabbed a plasma grenade and a rocket launcher, and came back to my sandwiched pal here. I stuck the plasma on the right wing, sort of in the middle (I doubt it matters where) and watched it blow up, sending the ghost sideways for a second or two. Click goes the right trigger. Boom goes the ghost. And voila, it is through.
That's not the trick. Getting a ghost through is easy enough. The thing is, though... when I flew it through the room after the broken door (with the huge drop and the single bridge on the right), the flood were apparently on their lunch break. No one was there. Hmmz, went I.
Next I opened the door leading outside, and followed through the tunnels leading outside, preparing to make a mad dash (which was better than the typical on foot dash, cause i had a ghost!). Except... there was no reason to. No one was there.
So I hover on over to the ammo camp with every gun ever, next to the cave. *Silence* I think the covenant and flood don't like me.
Last resort! After a little driving I got to the end place where there's a Covenant army with wraiths and everything, and you pick up the banshee to go forth and destroy the last pulse generator. And guess what? No one was there. Not even the banshees. The entire place was totally deserted, and I have a feeling it wasn't because I chose the wrong stick of deodorant.
Well... I went back to the big pit of death room, and the doors closed on me. Yay. Then, after crossing the bridge, the flood showed up and everything went back to normal.
So.... since I've never seen this before, is this new to anyone, or do you all know about the disappearing dudes and don't even bother saying it?
If you knew this, I'm really, really sorry for wasting your time. Try to go easy on me, though... this is my first discovery ;P
P.S, I just got a warthog through, yay! The same thing happens.
