Do we actually know that the health bar isnt goin to be in Halo 2. I mean on the screenshots it doesnt look like it. i hope it does come back. I want Halo 2 features to be the same as Halo 1 but with more of em. Like diff. vehicles (which is obviously confirmed), and other new stuff. One thing i would like is to see the same hud.

As if they wouldn't give us the Health Bar? If it doesn't appear on screens, they're in development.

Or...maybe it just appears when you get hurt, or when it's not at 100%? Maybe it hides itself when it's full...who knows.

There has to be a health bar beacause how would a marine with no shields live after taking one shot if there was no such thing as "health"?

Marines are different than spartans. If you could play as a marine, then im sure there would be a health bar. My theory on the new HUD is that:

1. Bungie wanted to make a new and sweeter one.
2. Maybe MC has been turned into a spartan III so he is more robotic than human and only his sheild is a factor in how many shots he can take before he dies.
3. If a sausage and a hotdog got into a fight, we all know the sausage would surely win. But, if that hotdog became a corndog, the outcome could be quite different.

Hmmm, I have a pretty good idea for the health bar. Maybe it's on that little oval thingy that's on the right side of the shield. So if you got hurt, then it would turn from blue to red, or it could be like a meter, and slowly rise till it was fully red.

The only problem I have with the lack of a health bar is that all that armor now seems kinda useless.

Before, once your shields were depleted, it would still take a good number of shots to die, because of your armor.

But now, once your shields are gone, you only take a few more shots, making it seem like all the armor MC is wearing is useless.

there is health, in all forms. the visible health bar is not seen in the e303 vid, and in the beta, your health/shield bar switches, depending on what is taking damage...

but, bungie said they will implemet a new HUD... that has a health bar... but there are no health packs[so i hear].

and i bet you have the same amount of health as halo1... if not, the PPistol would be easier to kill with, and bungie said it was perfect in the first game... so expect the same amount of health as halo1.

The visual health bar may only begone for MP. MP is totally separate from the SP story and does not have to be accurate. They may have decided this is the most fun way to play MP. They have shown us nothing of the single player health so who knows.

To show you the difference. When playing legendary co-op you can take like 6-8 M6D rounds to the head before you die. Now in MP you die after 3. Everything in MP is different including health and weapons damage.

As for the once your shields are gone you can take a few more shots, I think you can take a few more Battle Rifle shots. In Halo MP you could only take a few M6D shots to the chest before you die same here.
