I apologize to everyone who waited so long to read part 18. I am sorry to inform you I have discontinued this fan fic, and I will delete all posts related to it and stop writing altogether. I apologize for any inconvenience. JUST KIDDING! Here is Part 18. Also, I am thinking of making a fic specifically about Finn, what do you guys think? He's become one of my favorite characters I've ever written.
18. Coming In Guns Blazing
Finn's heart was beating fast. It needed to stop being so loud. Finn could barely hear what Richard's orders were. He could barely breath. He had to stop being so weak. He was strong. He was a Spartan.
But then again, he was a Spartan III. They were meant for suicide runs. ONI's personal arsenal of fire and forget weapons. Only these weapons had faces and personalities. But they were merely expendable. Cheaper to make and easy to mass-produce, the Spartan IIIs were nothing. So why did Finn feel like he was so much more?
The Pelican stopped inside the ship's cargo hold. The door opened and Finn, being the closest to the door, was the first to step out. He was sweating from fear and anticipation. This time, they were going on the offensive. ONI had sent them into a Covenant ship using an their pelican's cloaking technology. The pelican would stay cloaked in the Covenant CCS Battlecruiser's hangar and wait for Stiletto to return from their mission. The mission itself was simple: they needed to capture the ship.
As soon as the pelican uncloaked and Stiletto hopped out, it was a blood bath. There had been Seraph and Spirit pilots in the hangar and they had immediately started firing at Stiletto Squad. As his comrades engaged in a firefight, Finn did what he had always done: he charged forward at full speed and hit something hard. Running at twenty miles per hour, he charged into an elite and punched it square in the jaw. The elite was knocked back by the blow's momentum and strength and he crumpled against the bulkhead. Finn brought out his DMR and fired three quick bursts into the skulls of four grunts walking in front of a charging red elite. The elite, surprised by the sudden death of his comrades, took a step backwards, only to be torn open by a round from Ralph's shotgun. Richard bent down on one knee and released a continuous stream of machine gun rounds into another elite, knocking down its shields and killing it. Dave used his grenade launcher to quickly demolish a line of jackal's holding energy shields as an impassable wall. Red and Kim shot two different plasma batteries that took out an advancing wave of brutes. It seemed the battle had been one. Then the hunters came.
Four hunters, crouching low and holding their indestructible metal shields high, entered the hangar and began firing their powerful rod cannons. Stiletto Squad dodged and hid behind a Spirit drop ship. Bones quickly charged up his Spartan Laser and fired a red beam into one of the hunters before taking cover behind another Spirit. Skull followed with another quick attack, firing a rocket that killed two of the hunters.
The final hunter was Cowboy's. He rushed it, and the hunter began to charge at him, as if they were playing Chicken, but at the last second he rolled to the side and came behind the hunter to shoot it in the back. He fired, sending orange liquid everywhere and killing the monstrous behemoth.
Finn was the first to come up from behind the Spirit. He looked around the wide, horseshoe shaped hangar. "Anyone else ready to kick some ass?"
Everyone in the hangar nodded before heading towards one of the doors leading deeper into the ship's interior.

Shipmaster J'hal Wortor'ee glared at the surveillance feed streaming from a cameras placed in the ships main hangar. Human filth, several Demons and some nameless cannon fodder had entered the ship in a cloaked vehicle and had decimated the force sent to stop them. Not a single member of the dispatched attack force remained, merely crumpled bodies left to rot in a now empty compartment of the ship.
J'hal muttered a curse under his breath. Though the bridge was well guarded, hidden away deep inside in the ship, the humans were coming closer. Something needed to be done to end their steady advance through his ship and slaughter of the crew.
The Shipmaster turned to face a squad of five Elites. All highly decorated officers, they were going to be deployed to the planet's surface to retrieve human NAV data. However, due to recent events, J'hal believed they could take care of some other important tasks, like the humans burning like a cancer through the ship's belly.
"Those humans have cost us dearly," J'hal exhaled, gesturing at the screen displaying images of the unclean that were aboard the ship. "Find themÖ and kill them."

Richard checked his HUD. According to scans ONI probes had performed, Richard and the rest of Stiletto were approaching the bridge. Moving at their current speed, the mixed ODST and Spartan squad would reach the bridge in ten minutes.
"Everyone know the plan?" Richard quickly activated his open comm. and began to address the rest of the squad.
Ralph was the first to reply. "Yeah. We get to the bridge and kill every Covenant bastard we see."
Kim voice was the next to sound over the secure channel. "You know, Ralph, you are one piece of work."
Ralph chuckled and began to say something else when he stopped abruptly and put up his hand as a signal for everyone to stop. He raised his shotgun and did a quick 360-turn before chinning a button on his helmet, keying his voice onto a radio channel that only Stiletto Squad could hear.
"We have stealth elites. Everyone switch to thermals. This isn't going to be an easy fight." Just as he finished his sentence, Ralph fired a shotgun shell into the air, as if to punctuate his sentence, causing an elite to materialize and gurgle as the shell ripped into the bulkhead behind him.

Special Operations Elite Reh Shohal'ee cursed in his native tongue. The large human, a demon, had just killed one of his finest warriors, a Sanghelli he considered his brother. For that, the demon and his comrades would pay.
"Brothers," he yelled, turning visible and drawing his energy sword, "ATTACK!"

Finn rolled backward as a burning plasma sword stabbed the ground where he had been standing. If he had delayed his reaction by a nanosecond, he would have been speared by a burning white blade. Finn cursed and brought his DMR up to his chest, crouching on one knee and supporting the gun's stock with the other. He fired off five shots. Not a single one missed its target, the Elite's skull, and the alien creature fell to the ground in a heap.
Finn rolled backward once more as another elite swung at him. This time, Richard brought it down with three quick bursts from his assault rifle. Finn nodded his thanks before charging headfirst an elite that Cowboy was going against hand to hand. Taking out his sheathed combat knife, Finn jammed the heavy blade into an exposed part in the alien's neck. It cried out in surprise and pain and stumbled backwards, trying to remove the weapon from its neck. Cowboy picked up his shotgun and ended the beast's misery.
Dave kicked another Spec Ops Elite in the chest, sending it crashing into the bulkhead. It sucked in a few final breathes, trying to breathe despite its crushed lungs, and died. Red shot a fourth elite point blank with her sniper rifle, ripping through it's head and killing it. For Stiletto, the battle was over. However, for Reh Shohal'ee, it had just begun.
