Male stripper cops will break into your house if you don't post the next part of the story.
You got that from Who's line right?
"Have you been asked to join?"
"No but I want to."

I just watched that show tonight. Creepy..

But no. I did see the part where Ryan stands in front of a green screen pretending to forecast, and the video was a Male stripper cop strip dancing. lol

An assassin will always carry on, even after death.

kingwrench knows the consequences.
If he hasn't written part 19 by the time I get back from Swansea I write it for him.

BTW did you read any of my story since the last time you commented kingwrench?

How'd you find me?

Tried, haven't gotten to it yet. It's on the list of things I need to catch up on.

Yesssssssss! There we go, part 18. Good stuff man. I like the combat. Keep it up.

  • 07.02.2010 3:12 PM PDT

Gotta stick some regular enemies in this story. Seems like all the Stillito team sees are Ultra-this, or Honor-that. Plus the Brutes and Elites really do not get along together. They hate each other guts enough to forget everything else, and instead to kill each other.

Yeah, I figured that out a while ago. I just throw the scariest thing I can think of at them, cannon be damned! But yeah, I'll address that issue.

  • 07.03.2010 11:51 AM PDT

If your thinking about scary, throw some flood on them.

How'd you find me?

Hey, I have a request for you guys. Be more rabid than the average fan base. Spam your friends with links to this story and tell them to read it or you'll hurt them. Send me angry letters every time I don't update every couple of days. Hell, stalk me. Just be more addicted than usual.

Just kidding! Man, it's been a while since Part 18. And now I forgot that elite's name.
-blam!-. (By the way, I know part of this chapter is inspired by The Fall of Reach, but how else do you kill an entire ship full of Covenant? You don't.) Also, I think I'm going to rap this story up in a few chapters. Don't worry, these characters will appear in other stories, and Finn will be the star of his own fic soon.

19. We Hardly Knew Ye

Reh Shohal'ee had decided to hang back while the Stealth Elites under his command dealt with the infidels. It was just a feeling he had had. His father would have called it warrior's intuition, may the Forerunner's guide hid soul. And he had watched as his soldiers- Sanghelli under his command- had fallen to the demons and strangely-clad ones in mere moments. Reh had felt intolerable rage and wished to rip the intruders limb from limb, but instead maintained camouflage and stocked the heretics through the ships tight halls. He would wait for the right moment, and then, he would strike.

*****

Finn studied the data-pad ONI had given them to hack the Covenant ship's systems. Though it was an impossible feat to kill all of the Covenant forces on the ship, there was another way. After securing the bridge, they would use the data-pad to increase the pressure in every part of the ship, except the bridge, of course, enough to crush a Spartan. They would then send a worm through the ship's main frame, copying while simultaneously destroying every bit of information the ship contained.

Finn, however, was not thinking about the mission; he was remembering his training on Onyx, with Lieutenant Commander Ambrose and CPO Mendez. He also remembered his friends, Tom, Lucy, and all the others, and how he had been pulled from OPERATION: TORPEDO by what seemed to be a twist of fate

Finn's shook his head and focused on the present. He had time to remember Onyx and Beta Company later. Right then, though, he had a job to do.

Richard came to a halt, signaling for the rest of Stiletto to do so as well. He pointed at the doors in front of them with the index and middle finger of his right hand and shook it quickly twice. The "move in" symbol. As Finn closed the distance between himself and the door, he checked the map in the corner of his HUD. They had come to the door leading onto the bridge. Finn came to a halt a few meters from the entrance to the alien command deck and flattened him-self against the wall. The rest of Stiletto did the same. Richard brought up his assault rifle and came closer to the door. He hesitated a few seconds and stared at the door, as if in thought. His reverie, ended, however, as he turned back to face his squad.

"We breach on my mark," Richard said, his voice barely a whisper as it crackled over the comm. "Mark."

*****

Richard was uneasy. Though he was told he was a natural born leader, he doubted in his own ability to lead a squad of ODSTs, much less Spartans, however young they may be. But he had to adjust. He'd done well so far as a leader. And he'd keep doing well.

Richard stared at the purple, alien metal guarding the entrance to his target. He quickly checked the bio readings of his teammates. The ODSTs heartbeats were fast and continuous, betraying their calm composure. The Spartans hearts were also beating fast, but more controlled and steadied than the ODSTs. Richard noted that his vitals were somewhere in-between the two group's.

The Lieutenant turned to back to face his squad, and whispered into the secure comm.:

"We breach on my mark. Mark."

*****

Stepping into the control room was like stepping into hell. As soon as the combined Spartan and ODST squad entered, plasma fire and sharp, explosive needles filled the air, making the air sizzle with heat.

Immediately, Stiletto retreated behind the door they had entered from, taking cover on either side of the threshold. Richard cursed himself. He knew he should have expected resistance. Just not that much resistance.

Richard poked his head around the bulkhead. Instantly, he was greeted by a volley of pink needles. Richard pulled his head back and the deadly projectiles impacted on the far end of the corridor.

"Bones," Richard whispered, keeping his head flat against the wall as he turned to face his friend, not wishing to expose even the tiniest fraction of his head to the enemy, "fire a rocket into that cluster of grunts with the needlers. Dave, toss in some flash-bangs. Disorient them.

"Everyone else," Richard continued, bringing his head away from the door, "hit them with everything you've got while they're blind. No survivors." Richard turned his head back to face Bones and Dave. "Get ready to fire and toss the grenades on my mark."

"Mark."

*****

The bridge seemed to explode with light. J'hal was thrown back, away from the command console and onto the ground, as was his bridge crew. In the background, he heard primitive human weaponry belch out their metal projectiles. The floor shook again, and he realized they were using their explosives on his troops. No. He would not allow the humans to disrespect him on his ship, in front of his crew.

J'hal tried to rise, but an armored foot smashed him back to the ground. J'hal was certain that the human had broken something. In shock, he realized it was his spine.

"Stay down," a human voice sounded, as if it were far away, the last reverberations of an echo through a deep canyon. J'hal felt metal pressed up to his skull, and felt the human put pressure and the trigger

And then, J'hal felt nothing.

*****

Richard inspected the damage done to the bridge. Plasma scorch marks, shrapnel from grenades, and spent shell casings littered the floor, along with the fresh corpses of dozens of grunts, jackals, and elites. Cowboy policed the bridge crew, which had been thrown from their posts by the explosion of Bones' SPKNr rocket and ensuing assault using mostly grenades, several belched out by Dave's grenade launcher, and shot each of them in the head, point blank, with his magnum. When he was done, Cowboy turned towards Richard.

"I think the bridge is clea-" suddenly, Cowboy was impaled by a white-hot plasma blade and lifted several feet into the air before being tossed into the wall, as casually as some one might brush off a mosquito. From thin air, Reh Shohal'ee materialized, flicking the blood from his now stained-red blade. He would have his revenge.

****

Finn watched in horror as Cowboy crumpled against the wall and fell to the ground, dead. From the small amount of time he had spent with the ODST, he had come to consider him a friend. And then, just like that, he was dead. Finn slumped to his knees, unable to take the shock of the event.

Reh took advantage of Finn's momentary weakness and charged at him, plasma blade ignited, thirsting for blood.

AL is preventing me from having fun. It is also preventing a lot of people from having fun. People who defend AL say they can live without it. It is obviously unfair in many ways.

SO WHY DON'T WE REMOVE/TWEAK IT?

Also, yes, I do goose.

Pretty good.

Might want to edit the title to inform the others of a new chapter.

This well? Since a few months ago. Most of my earlier stuff was either insanely short or total shiz.
