Wow dude... in case you hadn't noticed this isn't the most active of forums anymore. And spamming yourself makes you look like a fool.
As to your initial question, ODST was built upon the Halo 3 engine. From my understanding, that means that the A.I. had to follow pre-programed paths drawn by a level designer with limited autonomy in order to react to the human players. The A.I. simply wasn't advanced enough to navigate player created landscapes in an intelligent manner. Apparently the A.I. is being completely revamped for Halo Reach. If there is indeed firefight in Reach, then perhaps you will get your forgeable firefight maps. Just please be a little more creative than a long featureless corridor with turrets and rocket launchers at one end.
