I am just looking for a definite answer as to why high scores in ODST Firefight do not get uploaded to bungie.net stats. Anyone know the real reason?
Because my high scores of 15 and 22 Million, plus high scores of countless other people in the 10-20 Million range are lost in the abyss of information. But then there are those people who have found a way to get their high scores uploaded. How?

Case in point - There are a few 10+ Million scores on halocharts.com.....meaning high scores CAN get uploaded. But how?

I am just looking for a no BS, honest answer so that when I play another Firefight game, I can actually have some stats to show for it.

Thanks all!

Check out my [/u]channel!

Is this what your looking for?

btw I posted this on the flood for you.

I see your games as uploaded. If you are talking about lost platoon...they usually don't include those on the leaderboards.

I am just looking for a no BS, honest answer so that when I play another Firefight game, I can actually have some stats to show for it.

The following is a GUESS, I don't have any official knowledge about how this works:

Bungie's servers are not perfect, and neither is the connection of many people playing Firefight. The longer a game goes on, the more information there is to upload to Bungie.net. If there is an issue with connection (lag, crowded servers, etc) then the larger the game gets, the more chance there is that some data will not transfer properly. I imagine that to keep people from uploading false games, the Bungie end rejects (or takes a long time to examine) games which are in any way incomplete- they must be verified.

I would say that the best way to make sure your data gets uploaded is to play on the best connection possible. If you're playing with teammates, make sure you have a good connection to them as well.

To those that said my scores ARE in my Firefight history....you missed the actual dilemma I was talking about.

My two biggest scores (one of 15 Million points and one of 22 Million points) ARE NOT in my Firefight history, as you can clearly see.
I played these games, I finished these games, I got those big scores, yet they were never uploaded.

Other people on these forums that I have talked to in the past have themselves gotten really big scores (a few around 12 Million, some around 15-18 Million) and they themselves experienced the problem of not having their scores show up on their Firefight history.

But, on the other hand, a slect few people on HaloCharts.com were fortunate enough to have their high scores over 10+ Million points upload to their bungie.net service records.

My question is why do some people have their scores upload, while others (like me, for one) get shafted?
I'm just trying to find an answer so that the next time I play for a ridiculous score, I will have the stats show up on my service record.

*And to those who think Lost Platoon doesn't count, look at HaloCharts.com......Lost Platoon games make the leader boards, so stop with the false myths.

Here is the proof of my two scores (15 Million and 22 Million).......this screenshot is to show that I did get these scores, but that they DO NOT appear in my bungie.net stats

Celebratory Crouching King

were you playing online, or offline? I've noticed a few of my scores and stats from offline games not showing up from time to time.

Did you turn the game off / disconnect too soon?

  • 03.26.2010 8:53 AM PDT

I was connected to Xbox Live throughout the game.....and I left my Xbox on the ODST main screen for 6 hours after finishing the game before turning it off.

However, I am wondering two things:
1.) Does having the actual ODST game saved to the Hard Drive make a difference if a game will be uploaded or not?
2.) I only left the game on the main title screen, not the Post-Game screen (the screen with all the game stats). Does that make a difference as well?

I have the high legendary score on halocharts. I have gotten really high scores twice (10 million and 12 million) and they both have been recorded.

A couple of facts for you:

I played solo
On each occasion I got the scores over a three day period. I just paused the xbox when i wanted.
I quit out at set 18 both times.
I turned the xbox off as soon as I was done. I didnt wait any amount of time.
I checked to see if they posted immediately after both games and they did.
I do not have the game saved to my hard drive
The 10 million game took 28 hours. The 12 million game took 20 hours (refined my technique - lol).

Hmm.....I am totally at a loss for words then. It just seems like some games are swept under the rug, and I don't understand why!

My 22 Million score took 3 days just like yours (I paused it when I took breaks, just like you). My game time itself was less, 23 hours, but yet yours uploaded, so it definitely can't be a question of too much game data.

I am completely stumped.
I want to play another Firefight game and get a higher score, but what's the point if all of my stats from these games vanish into thin air?

  • 03.26.2010 9:34 AM PDT

I don't see how you scored 22 million on normal in 23 hours. Takes me 20 hours to get a little over half that on legendary. Not doubting that you did - I just don't understand.

It's all about the Vehicular Manslaughter and Killtrocity.......I don't want to give away my strategy, but basically once the multiplier was maxed out at 15.5x I was getting 900,000 points a Set and I was able to do about 1.5 Sets an hour.

Heres my In-Game Screenshot to prove the Time, Lives, Set, and Score

Another idea:

What about the NAT type?
Because my NAT has always been Closed, but just 30 minutes ago I finally set it to Open and the difference in connection speed and matchmaking times has been drastically reduced.

Maybe my NAT being Closed was causing an uploading problem for such a big game???

  • 03.26.2010 11:09 AM PDT

My nat is open. Also, you won't last too long getting vehicular manslaughters if you try that on legendary - lol. I can tell by your heatmap that you just splatter the crap out of them as soon as they drop -lol. You are lucky if you can jack a chopper when it drops and get away on the legendary setting. Your shields deplete too fast.

Yea....I decided I'm going to start another massive Firefight today, but I settled on Heroic as the difficulty. It won't go as fast as Legendary with the multipliers, but it will be more manageable.

Hopefully this score uploads.

Ranked #1 on HaloCharts.com ODST Leaderboards
Solo Firefight: 23,251,280 points (Legendary)

Actually, I have the highest Legendary Solo Firefight score on Halocharts (12,056,970). It just doesn't show up there because my high score on Normal is higher (21,136,352), and only your highest score posts to the leaderboard. It is in my Firefight history, though.

I had previously had a Legendary game going at 19.3M points with 23 lives left, but the power went out in a windstorm, and the game vanished. :(

As far as NAT is concerned, that isn't the answer, either...When I scored 12M on Legendary, I was hooked up to Xbox Live through my iPhone while I was on call at work. I played when I had down time, and had to end out of the game when it was time to go home. I used my iPhone as a WiFi router and had my Xbox hooked up to my laptop, which was sharing my internet connection through my iPhone. My NAT in this scenario was STRICT, but it still uploaded.

  • 03.26.2010 12:37 PM PDT

Wow....so no matter what little detail I try to find that might make the difference of a score being uploaded or not, I am once again turned back to the starting spot.
Crap a crap crap.

Well, I guess all there's left to do is try for my 100 Million mark in May and hope to all that is holy and forgiving that the score uploads.

Thanks for all the help/input so far guys. I wish my name would have it's rightful place on halocharts, but I guess I have to wait and hope...tell you what though, if the next time I devote 3+ days to Firefight results in nothing again, I'm giving up on ODST.

  • 03.26.2010 1:06 PM PDT

Thats not very nice stasis. You used my tips to beat me - lol. I saw your heatmap. Guess you will have to get over 21 million if you want it to show up on halocharts. :). I'm done playing ODST anyway. It was fun for a month or two. I'm looking for a decent partner to get the halocharts challenges on ODST though. one of you guys want to help?

Ranked #1 on HaloCharts.com ODST Leaderboards
Solo Firefight: 23,251,280 points (Legendary)

:) Sorry, daadiola :) It was bound to happen sometime.

Actually, though, I did not use your tips...I never saw your thread with your tips until today, and I just watched one of your youtube videos today, after seeing your comments here. I am not on these forums much at all...the only reason I was today was because RMGeneralBull PM'd me a question, which lead me to this forum question.

The technique I used was purely my own. I simply played the game and figured out what worked for me. You can watch my own youtube video to see. It is no surprise that my heatmap is relatively similar to yours; we played the same map and the enemies are spawning in the same places. By the time you rack up 15,000 kills, most of them are bound to happen in about the same places.

One of these days I will probably try to beat my Normal score on Legendary, since I know I can...I would have crushed it had the power not gone out on my 19 million Legendary run. I still had 23 lives left and was going strong. However, we are moving in less than two weeks, having a new baby within the month, and I have a lot of more important things in my life going on...I probably won't be playing ODST anytime soon. And once the Reach beta is released, if I do actually have time, I will probably be doing that instead of ODST.

As far as the Halocharts Challenges go, sure, I would be happy to hook up with you sometime...we would probably crush it. I can't guarantee I will have much time in the near future, though. But I am certainly open to the possibility. Send me a FR or an invite sometime.

Daadiola, I sent you a private message, plus a friend request on Xbox Live.....I'd be totally game to do some challanges with you.

Thanks for all the comments guys.....hope I didn't come off as someone trying to steal the thunder from your accomplishments. Truth be told anyone of us could easily top any of the scores we have discussed if we had the time.
I'm just always going to be ticked that I don't have the stats on my B.net profile......Think of all the medals and kills I'm missing out on =(

It's not Hip-Hop, its Electro.... prick.

Yeah, some of my high scores for firefight (pitiful) have dissappeared before. I don't know any possible way to fix it except filing it as a Bungie.net bug
