Yeah, but kids are getting softer and softer these days. I'm willing to bet that since his mom bought the game for him, he thought everything he saw in the game would be okay to copy in real life. Either way, that dumbass mother deserves the most blame.

Jay agrees, it's the parents' job to teach their offspring how to function in reality.
Jay also thinks that children shouldn't be so shielded, because they can't live their whole lives in ignorance of drugs, violence, -blam!-ity, and all the stuff kids aren't supposed to be into. If they aren't taught properly, they'll learn from experience when they make mistakes that should have been easily avoided.

Frag Master:
saying violent video games are responsible for violence is like saying matches are responsible for arson.
It's not very much alike. Matches are a potential tool for arson, video games are not as much potential tool for violence- unless you plan on sharpening your game discs and throwing them at people Predator- or Xena-style...
Jay thinks that blaming violence on violent video games is more like blaming Napoleon's megalomania on tactical and strategic games such as Risk.

Meh. Still, kids at the age of ten should still be able to tell reality from fantasy, and if they can't, they shouldn't be playing such games.

And parents shouldn't let their kids walk around with hammers, even if they aren't go to kill someone. Common sense. That's all it takes.

Psh, Jay used to walk about with blunt stuff, sharp stuff, heavy stuff, and lighters. Hammers and knives are useful for concentrating force where it's needed, and they have many legitimate applications. Lighters looked pretty with all the bright colours, and Jay could have one in each hand since they were common items. The thing to watch out for is kids with histories of especially destructive behaviour, sub-average intellect, and/or evil grins carrying such stuff around. Different people are different, that's why licensing systems are used to restrict use of automobiles, aircraft, guns, etc.

Edit: whoo, run-on
