Heh. My first post, and it's a complaint, well, more of a question really. Why is it that when I play Halo for my PC, it seems that the colors are all messed up? My character is grey no matter what I do, and so are all the others. This makes it amazingly hard to play team matches, for with me being stupid and all, I end up killing my teamates. Is there anyway I can fix this problem...........?

Oh, "n00b"? I'm sorry, it's how I begin my first post on every message board. XD;;
I'm terribly sorry. But that still doesn't fix my problem with colors. :0

i had that experience before and i know the solution, ur video card is not uptodate and not good enough to play halo with amazing computer details. I suggest u get a ATI Radeon 9600 SE for ur computer which is good enough to put good computer graphics and colors for ur gameplay

You might try updating your video card drivers, if you haven't already. That does sound like a frustrating problem. Until you can fix this, look for the green triangles that identify other spartans as your teammates.

Also, you might try downloading Halo Custom Edition, see if that treats you any better. You should be playing that version for multiplayer regardless of your problem, seeing as how its got so many advantages over normal Halo PC multiplayer. ;)

I had the same problem until I got CE - I still have the problem, not to as great an extent though -- Of course - I'm running off of the integrated IntelGraphics , and not a decent videocard, but with CE I can tell which is supposed to be red or blue..

can someone fill me in on what PCI express is? I have heard about it but ATI and NVIDIA's websites don't go into enough detail about this.

see most video cards go into the AGP slot (8x/4x) on ur computer motherboard
pci express is a line of video cards designed to go into ur pci slots rather than ur agp slots since a lot of motherboards only have one agp slot and many pci slots

Welcome to the wonders of Halo PC!!! I suggest using an Xbox. The only reason I would play PC is to play live but I can wait until November 9 for that!!!!!

KoreanBoy, you are flat out wrong. PCI-E is a new type of PCI slot that has a faster transfer rate as well as a higher overall rate of information for graphics cards. PCI-E cards will not work in them, and PCI-E is only available on the new Intel 915/925 motherboards. Plz get your facts straight.

EDIT-
As well, the reason there is only 1 AGP slot is because there is no way to run two graphics cards together (unless if you use a PCI and an AGP graphics cards for dual-displays... the old fashioned way!) PCI slots are for devices that do not send as much info to and from the CPU, as they do not need as much bandwidth.
