One of the guys form the mountain dew contest said that when he played halo 2, he threw a grenade at the energy sword and it fell back righ at his feet. the bungie employes watching were stunned that he actually found out about it.

-S

I tried the same thing at E3 but was having trouble adjusting my throws and not getting shot/run over at the same time.

I don't know why they would be stunned. That trick worked all the time in Halo.

I was talking about using explosives (ie grenades or rockets) to move power ups or weapons closer to you. Example in Chiron throw a grenade up to where the rocket launcher is to get it to fall down to you.

Sometimes people make things much more difficult than they actually have to be. You can simply jump up along that wall in Chiron and grab the rockets from below. No need to grenade them. Same goes for the rockets in Prisoner and Hang'em High, the Sniper Rifle in Derelict (off the ramp), Sniper Rifle in BG (jump from below, outside the base), and there's probably a few others.

Because the Energy sword is one of the best weapons and it's probably supposed to be hard and time consuming to get.

I'm just saying why use grenades when you could get it in a much easier fashion? Although that's not the case with the energy sword in Zanzibar. Anyone who has played Halo enough probably wondered whether or not a grenade could blow the sword down to you. I have a feeling that they will change this for the final release of the game. I do believe that most weapons will be affected by explosions, but special items like the energy sword will probably have a special tag assigned to them so they are not affected from explosions. Thus, they are gotten they way Bungie intended.

Or, it would be really cool if something like the energy sword was lethal while flying through the air at a high-velocity. That way you'd have to wait for it to settle on the ground before picking it up.

I dont think he was stunned that the guy got it down, although I'm sure it was a helluva throw. He was just disheartened that on the very first game they played, someone got it down like that instead of utilizing the whole thing you usually have to do to get it

Here's a question : If the plasma sword is a one-handed weapon, which it is, then could you dual wield another weapon in the other hand?? Perhaps, an SMG or maybe even another plasma sword if they ever place two on one level...

anyone see the trick to get more rocket ammo on sidewinder? its cool you shoot at the base so the rockets fly right to you its cool but i think that they should make it so that when explosives hit it its gets hurt kind of like the the banshees in the first one can die but only when your in it but yea

And while we're on the subject of plasma swords, do any of you think that it will be incorporated into the Campaign mode???

The guys said they never dual-wielded with the Sword, although they never actually tried to. He simply says he doesnt remember ever seeing the dual wielding option pop up on screen while he had the sword, so most probably (and I think definately) you cant dual wield with the sword
