How'd you find me?

Yeah, I got bored so now I'm going to try to juggle two fanfics. I hope this one is good...

Here are the links to the chapters.

1. Assignment

2. New Friends

1. Assignment
My name is Floats Higher Than Most. I am a huragok, an engineer. My race was created by the forerunners, an ancient and great species. Our creators our now long gone, and we are now slaves to madmen. I have been branded a heretic by so called Prophets that I have no faith in and I am currently fleeing my own brothers with a demon, a colony of sentient worms, and a construct. How has my life come to this?
The day I was drafted into the Covenant military forces is one I will never forget. My brothers and I were digging at a forerunner site at a previously human occupied world. The Covenant had destroyed the major population centers of the humans and glassed all but the forerunner sites. One ship was left on the planet for the forerunner artifacts we, the huragok, were finding for the pompous Prophets. Once we were done with the forerunner site, we would leave the planet, to most races of the Covenant a holy relic. Our ship would return to high charity with our findings and then be sent out again to recover more holy relics. Why did that carrier have to jump out of slip space? Why did I have to be taken for this ridiculous crusade?
As we worked, a bright flash filled the sky, and a Covenant carrier entered the planet's atmosphere. All of my brothers and all of the grunts securing the relics onto the transport phantoms looked up into the sky. Why was that weapon of destruction
here?
My question was soon answered.
"This is ship master Trell Vahar'ee. We request huragok to be sent up for repairs and to inspect recovered human technology." The voice over the comms might as well have been my executioner. Huragok? My exact species. And my artificial mind had calculated that we the closest to the ship. Surely enough, a Sanghelli major garbed in shining crimson armor told eleven of us to follow him. I was one of the eleven. Why me?
The phantom we rode in had only one other occupant besides the major and the pilot: a mgalekgolo. This was strange. Mgalekgolo were always seen with their bond brothers; where was this ones?
I floated over to the armored colony of worms; I wanted to talk to him. But when I tried to communicate, I could only make gestures; my species could only speak in a confusing language none of the other species of the covenant could understand.
"What do you want?" the humongous armored form asked, seeming annoyed.
I tried to ask it a question, but he could not understand what my movements meant. Finally, after several minutes, I pointed at him with a tentacle, split another one of my tentacles into two, and cocked my head inquisivitely. The colony of worms realized what I meant and turned away.
"That is none of your concern," the mgalekgolo said, turning away. I swore that I heard sadness in his voice.
"We are here," the major said, jumping out of the now open phantom. Everyone else followed, including the pilot, who stood in front my brothers,me, and the mgalekgolo with the major.
"You five," he said, pointing to five of the huragok besides me,"go with the major to the engine room to repair it." The five obeyed and they followed the major into the interior of the ship. "As for the rest of you," the pilot said, gesturing at all of us,even the mgalekgolo, "follow me."
We were all taken into the detention center of the ship. Only one cell was in use. What was inside shocked me.
"Your job," the pilot said, pointing to the cell, "is to reverse engineer the armor on that."
Inside the cell was a demon.

Funny, I did something like this way back when, Curious Than Most was my Engineer.

How'd you find me?

Interesting name, but an engineer's name has to do with the gasses balanced inside them, so "Floats Higher Than Most" means there is more helium or something like that in him. I'm posting the next part of this story soon, when more people find it! Come on, don't make Go Vader the only one responding...

"Dude, what are you doing right now?"
"Uhh... Heh, my mom."
"Dude... What?"

[Ever since I saw that "Flood Blueprints" update, I've bee neager to find such 'annals' that were referenced. Help a guy out with a link?]

O.T. - Though the story is highly amusing, and very interesting, I cannot help but question whether or not Floats Higher than Most would use such... Basic vocabulary? I mean, I could be wrong, but weren't the Covenant witnessed more to use prolific, castle-age vocabulary? They resided more onto verbs and expressions than actually telling a story. I'll give your assignment a try, though.

P.s. - Very good work, though.

How'd you find me?

He's an engineer. I don't think they talk all old age like elites. Thanks for the advice, I'll take it into consideration.

How'd you find me?

2. New Friends

The demon was bound by energy manacles at his hands and feet, but he stood erect in his cell. His golden visor reflected us as we stared at him in awe.
"It took several of our brothers to take this one in alive," the pilot looked at the human carefully, sizing him up. "You are to find a way to remove his armor, find the secrets to it's shielding technology, and then dispose of him. The prophets themselves have ordered this. Do not disapoint them."
We began to talk among ourselves; we thought the prophets to be nothing more than zealots obsessed with a species long dead. The hunter spoke out first.
"Why would you have us do this?" by we, the hunter meant only itself; after all, it was a colony of lekgolo worms, not a singuluar entity. "Why not one with a bond? Why pick us?"
I then realized what happened to the hunters bond; it was dead. There was no other explanation. I felt great sadness for the hunter, and so did all my brothers. The elite was not so kind.
"Why you, shamed one?" the elite asked, his eyes narrowing. "To give you a chance at dieing with honor. Maybe you could make every forget what happened to your mate. They were crushed by a vehicle, correct?"
The lekgolo worms inside the hunter began to move quickly, as if they wanted to rip themselves from the worm colony and kill the pilot in front of them. The hunter said nothing, however, it simply stood there.
The pilot looked satisfied and pushed a button on a console next to the door and it opened.
He gestured at the interior of the cell. "Go in," he commanded.
I was the first to enter. I immediately floated over to the demon and made my tentacles into hundreds of smaller cilia. I drifted over to his head and touched it with one of my tentacles. Instantly, I was bombarded with images and sounds. My mind felt like a maelstrom, only instead of a sea of water it was one of my very essence.
The hunter pulled me from the room and the storm in my head subsided. But there was still something there. In my mind. I could feel it.
"What is wrong, huragok?" the pilot looked at me with genuine concern. I told him nothing; that the presence of the demon bothered me. But I still knew something was there. And the demon knew something was gone. He kept his eyes on me, stared at me with that golden visor. My brothers still worked to unlock the demons armor, and so did I. But as I worked, I thought to myself. I thought a question. And I thought an answer. asked what and who. I was told A.I. and Deep Sixed. The name was interesting to me; I continued to think to myself questions; and I thought the answers. But for the answers, it wasn't me thinking. It was a new part of me: Deep Sixed, the smart A.I.

The Razor.

For the honour of the Mirratord.

It's pretty good so far, but you need to separate your paragraphs by a line. It maintains a sense of structure, and avoids the "wall-o-text". It also makes it a lot easier to read.

Interesting, just a little picky thing, you called it a Spartan in the second chapter. Not sure if it's intentional, but you call him demon everywhere else.

How'd you find me?

Oh, yeah, I have continuity issues. Oh well! So does Wolverfrog.

How'd you find me?

I've gotten a sudden case of writers block in relation to this story, and I've lost where I'm going with it. I'm probably abandoning this story. Sorry. You can read my other story, Halo ODST: Dropping Into Hell.
