Sounds great guys. That podcast was nice and juicy. Most the info we're getting seems to hint towards possibly the best Halo game yet.

Still hoping for any details on the multiplayer respawn system and how that has been improved from Halo 3. Hear my plea.

Sure thing.

-Field of Vision wider than H3 by about 25%. Spartans are slower and jump lower with less beatdown range to accommodate for this change. Not drastic but feelable levels.

-Falling damage and falling stun are both back in. They are trying not to overdo it.

-The DMR and Pistol both take 5 rounds to kill a fresh spartan. DMR is quite accurate, long range, and a "the definitive human weapon". They seem to be hard at work making the pistol a fierce and viable weapon this go round. The Needler Rifle is cross between the needler and carbine. It is a medium to long range weapon that can trigger a supercombine explosion and does "bonus damage" for headshots. Whatever that means.

-The weapon sandbox has been streamlined to cut out weapons without a specific role. Currently, it seems like the SMG is out of the game completely, and I speculate that dual wielding is also out completely, although not said directly.

-The grenade launcher is quite interesting. If you hold down the trigger when you fire it, the grenade will wait to detonate until you release the trigger, making it a good tool for anti-vehicle & anti-aircraft. It also has an EMP effect upon firing in this mode. Normal fire acts like a normal frag grenade, although a direct shot allows it to explode on contact.

-Frag grenades have a bigger blast radius but do similar damage to H3 grenades. The blast radius increase is to compensate for grenades that don't quite hit their mark, but still deliver minimum damage, unlike in H3 where it's mostly hit or miss.

-Melee will not affect your base health if you have ANY shield remaining, but one hit will always deplete it. A melee will also kill an unshielded spartan.

-Elites are quite larger than Spartans and thus are easier to hit. To compensate they have more health, shield, and regain shields faster. They also seem to be the only ones who can "Roll", while Spartans get armor perms. That last part is purely speculation by me, but the evidence for it is strong.

-Individual battles are intended to be longer, and shields stay down longer. Your base health will recharge 1/3 of the last damage value it took over time. E.G., If a spartan has 100 health 100 shields, and was taken down to 1 health, eventually he'd revert to 33 health 100 shields. A health pack is required to regain remaining health.

-There seems to be this recurring theme of 'let magnitism and smaller reticules' for Reach. Mostly notable is that the Sniper Rifle will have even less magnitism than it did in H3.

Pro Tip: Running backwards should be second nature.

I think I heard the word Geomerge in there somewhere so (speculation) possibly the ability to hold something in a space without gravity taking over or having your objects seizure out of place. The one thing I hope for more than most is the ability to hold an object delete it and have the object I'm holding be deleted and not the object behind the cursor.

I did read something in the presentation section about how forge was added late in the timeline of H3's production so I can see now that if it was included in Reach it would be greatly refined over H3's version.

Keep up the great work guys I will stand behind any game that you guys create (Unless it sucks). I do have to say good luck with the media barrage you guys have to pull off in the next month.

P.S. My father and I have been looking to no avail for an easter egg where a S'pht is sitting in a corner and makes that iconic sound. I shall be looking again and I hope to see or at least hear it.

I really don't get the point. The Dev Team says: "We always have been pretty good at bringing customization for the players to allow them to play by their preferences", but there is not gonna be any way to completely disable the auto-aim in Reach if the players simply want a pure experience.

Even if Sage said so, I really don't agree with that statement. Game controllers are not mouse+keyboard, they play differently and it should be normal for the average user to to get warmed up as fast as a PC player, but that doesn't make the thumbsticks less precise.

The players should ALWAYS have to choice and shouldn't be forced to play with auto-aim at anytime. I know the Dev Team works hard for non-gamers by tweaking that auto-aim system, but seriously... if I want to play without auto-aim, I shouldn't have to crack the game to have that opportunity.

It sounds like FPS games are cursed by the "auto-aim is required on console games" mentality

Other than that, looks great so far.
