An assassin will always carry on, even after death.

Firefight is good. Will it be in Reach?

Well, ODST had a better story because it wasn't a rushed, last-ditch attempt at wrapping-up a story that had gone too far for its own good.

The supporting cast are much, much, much more emotional and vunerable than Chief's wingmen, despite Halo 3 having the 'everybody dies' attitude (Johnson was getting too old and was one day away from retirement, Miranda was a -blam!- from the word go, and the Arbiter was an innacurate bullet magnet).

Gameplay was exactly the same; no new suprises, unless nobody had ever played Halo: Combat Evolved (health points was nothing new guys!), and the campaign got rid of the battle rifle (wtf Bungie? People actually liked to appreciate the only gun that was worth -blam!-, and you packed them all in crates along with the Chief to satisfy his trigger finger?!).

Finally the new soundtrack was at least twice as emotional and imaginative than the over-used 'legendary' anthem that seems to be the only song in the Chief's iPod (set onto loop along side the yuri pics of Cortana no doubt).

In conclusion: Halo: 2 was best.

It was better at gameplay,

better at story,

better at humour,

better at city combat,

and open fielded combat,

the flood were bowel-voiding fierce,

without the feather dusters,

and the brutes are forever to be an all-men race of cluster-****ing space bears with physics defying masonic weaponry!

Now I wait as nobody ever reads this ever again...

In Halo 2 the flood were better than in Halo 3.
The Brutes were better too and did more damage and were a pain in the ass to kill.
Halo 2s story was the best.

But...

ODST has the best city combat.
uplift Reserve is the best open field combat in any Halo game.

Well, in ODST, the CBD of New Mombassa is nice, but the slums that you encountered in Halo 2 had a much deeper impact. You actually felt like you were in a war zone out in Africa, not some New York clone used in just about every developed country (which I personally doubt Kenya to be, even in five hundred years.

Plus I adore Uplift Reserve; it kicks intergalactic alien tushie anyday, but theres just something about running over open beaches seeing orbital artillery fire in the skies above with Elites falling to the ground in sarcophagi, leaving a cloud of ash and sand before sprinting at you shouting "Demon!" with duel-wielded plasma fire being casually spat at your head. Now the Elites made orbital deployment look cool, before it was cool (*cough* Space Marines circa 40,000 *cough*), so tell me that the humans can top that!

The nly thing I will grant to Halo 3 is 'the ark', which was fun if you kept all the ODST's alive by the time you reached the prowler. And trying to drive through national park in the warthog was cool, despite the fact that a wildlife centre for preserving endangered species is so close its actually a city zoo (wtf mankind!?).

Still, your opinion counts as much as mine, or the next guy.

Halo 3 is better overall.

Favourite Book: Jurassic Park
Favourite Film: The Dark Knight
Favourite Game: Mass Effect 2
Preferred Weapon: Franchi SPAS-12

Halo 3 campaign I find more fun simply because the health system is better and brutes will auctually die properly. In ODST they took two sniper headshots and about four beatdowns. I liked it when they took one sniper headshot and two beatdowns.

Halo 3 ftw!

ODST weapons=UNDERPOWERED

  • 04.06.2010 5:51 PM PDT

Only the campaign but firefight was ok.

An assassin will always carry on, even after death.

I played through Halo 2 about 3 or 4 times. It was good and easily better than halo 3s campaigne but I thought ODST was better. If they remade Halo 1 and 2 and improved graphics and other things like Ghosts going mentel when you kill them, Halo 2 would easily be best game ever.

But now even though its campaigne is good ODSTs is better.

As for multiplayer, Halo 3 is best: ODST dosnt have any multiplayer (firefight dosent count) and Halo 2 dosent have any maps like Sandtrap or High Ground (even though I think Zanzibar is better than Last Resort with the guided Rocked Launcher and sword.)

Just my opinion

Spartan I Project - Community Game Nights Team Leader

IF it had a full multiplayer.
IF the campaign took more than 3.5 hours ON LEGENDARY.
It could have been better than Halo 3.

If you are speaking in terms of only the first disc, then I'd be obliged to say no. However, include the 2nd ODST disc into the equation, and I'd be obliged to say yes. It's the Multiplayer game we all know and love, with a few additional maps. Halo 3 ODST's campaign was better than 3's in so many ways, and Firefight was pretty darn good.

We shouldn't be discussing price. The topic is about which you think is better. Not which is better value for money. I know it sounds stupid, but theree is a difference.

Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.

I like both equally.

ODST was meant to be a game add-on. I personally don't think it comes close to comparison with Halo 3.

  • 04.07.2010 2:07 PM PDT

Just because of the better campaign I dont care for halo 3 MM much anymore except to play with friends so thats out but odst I can chill in the city and have some fun and if my friends want to join they can, or I can play some Firefight so in my opinion ODST.

Better in terms of Pistol, new enemies (Huragok), new enemy ranks (gold Hunters, gold Drones, gold Jump Pack Brutes), and a lot of Anti-air Wraiths on Kikowani Station (my favorite level).

I believe ODST's campaign is better, but I also believe Halo3 is better overall.

So, my vote goes to Halo3.

  • 04.07.2010 4:05 PM PDT

i think odst is rubish compeared to halo3 because there is more to do on halo3 than odst but the only good thing about odst is the firefight

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Gun, meet Bad Guy.
Bad Guy, this is Gun.

i have to say i play more halo 3 than it but then i play more L4D2 than halo 3 i liked odst better considering it`s more dark and sometimes can make me jump which rarely happened in halo 3

plus i`m going on it later to see my buddies show me how to get inside the oliphant(not driving) and bringing elites back to life totally owns all of halo 3`s campaign

Campaign and co-op, yes. But Halo 3 is generally better becuase of its multiplayer, customs and forge.

  • 04.08.2010 8:27 AM PDT

I say ODST is better, it includes all the multiplayer from halo 3 plus a new campaign and firefight. It's just Halo 3 with more content. As for campaigns only ODST had a better storyline, and halo 3's campaign had more replay ability
