halo odst was one of the funnest halo's i though because it was a lot diffrent from the other ones but the thing about it is that it had NO REPLAYABILITY AT ALL

  • 04.10.2010 2:17 PM PDT

As an individual story yes, as the culmination of a trilogy, no.

Halo 3= Hundreds of hours of playing
ODST= Maybe 10?

Speaks for itself

From campaign point of view, I prefer ODST to HALO 3, which translates to HALO: CE, HALO 2, ODST, HALO Wars and HALO 3.

Bungie altered/changed too many visual aspects in HALO 3 and didn't felt like a squeal at all. Not to mention the acting was poor at times and cheesy, (which also applies to ODST) and had no complexion or depth. The engine and excessive blooming is whole another story. I still don't understand why developers apply too much HDR+Bloom (maybe to distrace the players from flaws?)

TBH, I can go on forever.

I just pretend HALO 3 doesn't exist and I made my own ending to fill the void. I do however play the multiplayer as the visuals are closely linked to HALO Wars, H1 and H2.

PPS: I spend more time playing HALO than watching movies or playing other games. Hell, I've even played HALO 2 campaign more than 25 times and play it twice every year. But HALO 3 really did disappointed me. I had such high hopes. Hopefully Reach will fully restore my faith in Bungie. If not, well I can always play HALO 1 and 2.

An assassin will always carry on, even after death.

I thought that it was very replayable; going around Mombassa streets Hijacking Ghosts and killing Brutes ¦P

Arguing on the internet is like running in the special Olympics, Even if you win your still retarded.

In my opinion, ODST would have been worth 60 bucks if they had put in Forge mode, and have fully customizable ODSTs.

Throw in some Matchmaking and we got a deal Bungie.

But the invitation to Halo: Reach is worth every sweet, sweet penny :)

Your lucky it was only $60. I had to pay 60 euro but i think it was worth it

If you're on my profile, you're going in the wrong direction.
I have some unique opinions that tend to anger people.

I strongly dislike it whenever someone insults a band member/musician/artist, because they're a "Freak". As a person with seven arms, I take offense to that.

I shall measure them by my standards.

Halo ODST has a more enjoyable Single Player

Halo ODST also has better Co-Op play

Halo 3 has Custom Games, forge, and matchmaking

As far as the content on display goes, Halo 3 pretty much dominates not only ODST, but almost all other games on the market.

Logic and Reason over Religion.

That's just a stupid question.

Armor Lock vs. Top Speed, Approaching Ghost = Super Awesome!

dude, i cant belive you ask this, ITS THE SAME -blam!- GAME! EXACTLY THE SAME GAME, JUST DIFFERENT CHARACTERS, 2 NEW WEAPONS, AND FIREFIGHT MODE, THATS ALL.

  • 04.12.2010 6:06 PM PDT

You are the definition of an idiot. A weapon that isn't in a previous game is enough to make it new let alone 2, a new multiplayer mode, new characters, new health system and a new campaign. Tell me, how the hell is it exactly the same?

If your talking what you get when you buy ODST, I'd say ODST. Halo 3's campaign didn't intrest me at all. But you get multiplayer on the 2nd disc, so ODST is better overall IMO.

I dont remember ANY dark missions in Halo 3s campaigne.
Just one of millions of differences

lolnope.

Very unsure. Halo 3 has the whole matchmaking thing going on but... Firefight and the ODST campaign surpass both Halo 3's campaign plus custom games in my opinion.

  • 04.14.2010 11:57 AM PDT

For Me Halo 3 is better and ODST is sort of a expansion disc to it, (ODST after all does have Halo 3 before it). As an Achievement junkie and Gamer view on them there is way more achievements and challenging achievements for Halo 3 where as ODST has a lot fewer achievements let alone chalenging ones, I just got ODST and have over half in 2 maybe 3 days where it has taken months of time of on and off Halo 3 matchmaking and campaign play to get them all. Campaign for ODST is a bit overwhelming as far as what you have to fight and how tough things are on legendary and the handicaps on the diffrent levels of difficulty are sort of a stretch for me. Firefights alright but the co-op play for it is a bit of a pain if your an achievement junkie or like solo play. (hate the fact most firefight achievements pretty much require more players to get them way to much time for a single person to invest killing hundreds of aliens for one achievement). The fact skulls aren't really in ODST as well bugs me caause looking for them and figuring out the easiest ways to get them was fun.

So for me Halo 3 rocks harder then ODST, I do however like the life breathed into the characters of ODST and just more people in the storyline to breathe life into it. Wonderful cool breeze compared to the quiet Masterchief and Arbiter of Halo 3 but falls a bit short gameplay wise.

I agree. Those war based shooters are like the mainstream sports games -_- make a new one every year and add a few minor changes but the gameplay is STILL the same.. those games are all hype. Halo has always had its core gameplay but it evolved massively with each game and reach is no differnt =)

ODST had an amazing campaign, in my opinion, and it definitely puts Halo 3's to shame. But honestly, add Firefight, which was also amazing, and that's all you get. Halo 3 was a whole game, so you cannot compare half of a game to the real deal. ODST will always have a place in my heart, but it will never outshine the marvel that was Halo 3.

Agree one hundred percent.

ODSTs campaigne was amasing and I hope Reach has something like Mombassa Streets.
Also if Reach had firefight it would be great

ODST has an awesome story and better graphics than Halo 3. If they had added a multiplayer experience like Halo 3 in ODST. I would play ODST more than i play Halo 3.

One of the first 20 to beat Halo 3 on Mythic (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), in the later half I'm guessing
I notice time that light has reflection for, like the rainy magic of nobody else on a lovely day.

You can't really compare. You could compare aspects of each game, like their campaigns, though.
