You should be able to do it just fine... I don't remember if I used my regular xbox or my 360 when I used XBC but they should both be supported by the software.
You use the XBC console on your PC WHILE on Halo 2 on the 360, you use your computer to join peoples games. So your PC and 360 must be hooked up to the same modem/router with internet access, there should be guides for it somewhere. If there is no 360 guide, just follow the xbox guides as the game itself shouldn't change as it just uses LAN as a gateway to the internet and trick the system.
