It's fine. I just wanted everyone to know I said that. Ha, kidding. I don't care if you use it or not, it's just a phrase.

A damn good one :)

I agree with Skulblaka on wow. You're not afraid to put some mischief into your stories, are you? And I noticed you said that ONI was smoke and mirrors. I also used that in my story. If it's a coincidence, I'll shut up.

I didn't say Wow it was Pashto96. It is still a great story though.

Hmm, I've been posting these pretty quickly. I just want to know wether you guys would like me to release them slower so you aren't overwhelmed, or if you like it this way.

P.19

2 months later

"Exiting slipspace now." Dante said. The ship cheered. They entered space, and their eyes widened. In front of them was a full tilt space battle between the UNSC allied with the Elites, and the insurrection, human and alien. Behind it, Earth. An orbital defense platform was firing away, but most of the slugs were being intercepted by archer missiles from the enemy. The Chief patched in to the orbital platform, and spoke. "This Is Spartan E18, does anyone read me?"

Rodger E18, where are you located?

"The class 5 Cobra. Permission to dock?"

Permission granted. The COM terminated.

The Chief swerved between missiles and ships, and docked at the platform. After gearing up, Dante picked up the cryotube holding 117, and the team went to the airlock. It hissed as the titanium doors slid apart, revealing Commander Bayard. "Welcome home," He said, then turned to The Chief, "Who's in the tube." Dante put the pod down in front of Bayard, and his jaw dropped. "Is this who I think it is?"

E18 looked at the cryotube, "Yeah, it is."

Bayard pressed on his ear, still looking at 117. "Get a heavy lifting cart down to the docks now," Releasing his ear, he turned back to the team, "Follow me to the bridge. I'll explain everything."

"That won't be necessary," Saline said, "They know the essentials, we just need to know the traitor's name."

The Commander started to walk to the bridge, and the squad followed. "It's Ackerson."

"Ackerson?" The Chief said with surprise.

"It didn't come as a shocker to me. Think about it, his familly has hated the Spartan program since the beginning. Why would he if it was going to save the UNSC? Now Eli is carrying on his bastard father's wishes."

"So," Dante started, "Eli's father tried to cancel it because it was a danger to the insurrection?"

"Yes."

"Then why would he suggest the Spartan three program?"

"Because the Covenant would have to get out of the way before the insurrection could rise up. Besides, he knew they would die."

They entered an elevator, and Bayard hit a button, activating it. Shadow leaned against the elevator wall, and turned to the commander. "So they're here to take or destroy Earth?"

"Take it, for it's resources. They've gotten onto the surface, and are hitting major cities. If they eliminate our fleet, our ground forces are done for."

The group stepped out of the elevator, and walked down a hallway. "Is Ackerson present?" Dante asked.

"No." Two doors opened, and they stepped into the bridge. The bridge was crowded, and noisy. People were at stations everywhere, talking frantically into headsets and typing in commands. At the very end there were three huge screens depicting cities and battle grounds.

"Sir," Boomer said, looking at Commander Bayard, "What is New Moscow's status?"

"Look yourself." The commander replied, nodding to the huge screens.

Boomer looked at them, searching. After a brief look, he found the section on one of the screens showing New Moscow. It had been burnt to the ground. Shadow frowned. This wasn't good, it would most definitely affect Boomer's combat performance, but that wasn't what he was worried about. Shadow cared about his men. He could only picture the face behind Boomer's visor.

Commander Bayard folded his hands behind his back. "You can't help with the battle up here, but what you can do is get down on to the surface, and help with evacuations."

"Yes sir." Dante said.

"You're going down to Old Arcadia. There's a sh1t ton of civilians that need some help. The U.S. Army Rangers are already down there, but they're outnumbered three to one. Your objective is to hold the enemy out of the city while local police force evacuates the citizens. Get to the armory and pick your weapons." Bayard turned to Saline, "ONI Lieutenant, am I right?"

"Yes sir." Saline replied.

"Good, you're staying here and overseeing the entire operation. We're running short of people to run missions." The statement was ironic, but terrifying. With so many people on the bridge, they didn't have enough to run all of the operations? "Station F9. Now, excuse me, I have a job to do." The commander turned, and walked away.

The squad turned to head for the armory, but Shadow halted for a moment, looking at Saline. She took his hands in hers, and looked into his visor. "You better come back."

"I will." Shadow said. Saline moved forward, and kissed the ODST's helmet where his lips would be. Reluctantly, Saline let go of Shadow's hands, and he walked away.

The squad stepped into drop pods, and buckled in. Four thuds went off as the pods were lounched into space, and hurled towards the Earth's surface. "Uh, Terry?" Canine said on a private channel.

"Yeah?" Shadow replied.

"Just in case I don't make it back up, I'm sorry about what I did."

"It's alright man, and you're making it back up," Shadow switched back to the public channel, "Alright, let's show em what we've got red team."

I am a god! I am prescient!
I am religion!
I see the future, I see the past
Follow me, follow the vision.
I have become the ultimate power, I am protection.
I am messiah, I am a tyrant.
i show the path to redemption to man and the universe!

I like them being released quickly. It only takes me a couple of minutes to read a chapter, so it's easy to get caught up.

Good story!

Halo Uprising?

  • 05.01.2010 7:55 AM PDT

In Halo: Uprising, Ackerson is captured by the Covenant. He resists their torture, and nobly feeds them false information to keep them from glassing Earth.

Ackerson wasn't a complete bastard; he was just willing to do whatever was necessary to win the war. Remember that.

Ah! *snaps fingers* nutsack! I didn't know uprising existed. Damn you Bendis Maleev! Am I allowed to pretend he lived? Or is that breaking ze rules?

Well, you're asking ME, the person who brought Johnson back to life it it's allowed?

:P

Was he actually killed? It was implied I believe, but for all we know the Covenant kept him captive. Just invent something where he manages to escape the Brutes at some point in Halo 3.

Legitimately lopped off? Or was that an exageration.

Yeah, Wikipedia and Halopedia both say he was beheaded. When I get the collection of Halo Uprising, I'll check, but I'm pretty certain that Ackerson's dead. So basically, I'm not trying to be a jerk, you're story has fallen to pieces. Maybe you could replace Ackerson with another ONI guy?

Fallen to pieces may be a tad extreem bro. I fixed it anyway.

This is General Eli Ackerson(My Creation.), a son of The Ackerson that started the Spartan 3 program.

P.20

The squad entered the atmosphere, and the pods started heating up. "Anyone else a little hot?" Dante said. Everyone but Boomer laughed.

"Impact in five," Canine stated, "Let's do this."

The pods slammed into the ground behind friendly lines around the city's outskirts. They kicked their doors off, and took a quick observation. "Go go go!" Shadow yelled, pointing at the beginning a trench thirty meters ahead. "Friendlies coming into the trench from the city side." Shadow alerted over the COM.

A man appeared at the entrance of the trench, waving for them to come. When they reached him, they ran into the trench, and kneeled down by an ammo crate. "Private Silvers U.S. Army Rangers!" The soldier shouted over the boom of artillery, tanks, and gunfire, his eyes wandered over to the Dante, "Sh1t, they sent some serious firepower!"

"Yeah yeah yeah," Shadow said, "What's the situation."

"We've got a hill about sixty meters in front of us. There's eight tanks on top, and behind it three SAM sites! We're taking casualties like there's no tomorrow! We need to take out those SAM sites and call in some air support to cook the hill!" A tank shell slammed into the ground above them, showering the soldier's with dirt.

Another Ranger approached, "Looks like the swabbies finally sent in some help. I'm Lieutenant Sanderson, the CO here."

"I filled them in sir." Silvers said.

"A Spartan, just what we needed. There's a Striker Mortar further up in the trench, but the damn innies got in and are pressing hard. They took that part of the trench, and we need it back."

Private Silvers turned to His CO, "Permission to accompany them?"

"Denied!" Sanderson shouted over the boom of a nearby explosion.

"My best friend was in that section of the trench sir!" Lieutenant Sanderson nodded, and Silvers trotted off with red team. They passed by loads of dead and dying men as they headed for their objective. Empty med kits lay in the dirt. Medics were starting to take the blood soaked rags off of the dead and use them on the wounded.

A medic stepped in the way of the squad, holding up his hand. "Wait wait! Are you guys going to the north section of the trench?"

"Rodger that." Silvers replied.

"Please, if you see any medical supplies." The Ranger's face was desperate. It hurt just to look at it. Dante nodded, and a sliver of relief hit the medic's face. They turned the corner, and ducked as bullets flew over their heads. Shadow landed right on top of a dead body, it's mid section blown away. Getting up he pressed his back against a metal crate, and peeked around the side, firing off a three shot burst into a man's face.

His quick glance of the innies confirmed that they now were a legitimate fighting force. They wore dark grey gas masks with two red circular eyeholes. The rest of their body was covered in red and grey plating. They weren't to be underestimated.

When the Chief popped back up, two of the five enemy soldiers turned to run. The ones who stayed were killed almost instantly by Dante, and the other two were shot in the back by Boomer and Canine. "Suck it!" Canine shouted, firing his BR55 into the head of a dead insurrectionist.

Shadow looked behind him and saw Private Silvers on the ground, his hands covering the back of his head. It was understandable. He was just a boy, and saying he'd gone through the wringer was an understatement. The ODST reached out a hand. "On your feet soldier, we have a job to do." Silvers took it, and stood.

Red team moved on, and turned the next corner. Saline's voice crackled over the radio, Take your next left, and you'll come to a destroyed area of the trench. You'll be in the open, and vulnerable to the tanks, so move quickly.

"Affirmative." Dante said. He took the left, and ran across the open, heading for the entrance to the trench. A loud "BOOM!" sounded off, and a tank shell shot through the air. Dante turned to deflect it. He only had time to realize that he was too late.

Inches from E18's face, someone tackled him with such force that when he hit the ground he was nearly knocked unconscious. The tank shell flew overhead, and exploded behind him. Dante looked up as a tall armored figure got to it's feet, took his hand, and threw him over his shoulder.

Dante's savior dove into the entrance to the second half of the trench, and put him down. The rest of his team was crouched around him. "Is he dead?" Canine asked.

"No," A deep, rough voice replied, "He's just dazed." Dante's vision cleared, and above him was the savior of the universe.

Dante got to his knees. He wanted to ask so many questions, but there was no time for that. For now, he would just have to make himself seem Spartan like. "Spartan E18 Master Chief."

"Spartan 117," The second Spartan replied, "Master Chief."

"Call me Dante."

Canine closed one eye half way. "So we can call you Dante and you won't be pissed?"

Dante nodded, "For now." They were about to continue when a bright flash of light went off overhead. They looked up to see the Orbital Defense HQ in pieces.

"No!" Shadow shouted. He dropped his gun, and slumped down against the trench wall. The crack of gunfire and booming explosions sounded all around him, but he heard none of it.

"Sh1t." Canine sighed, "Let's go, we'll come back for him."

The Master Chief proceeded, but the others took a moment before following. Silvers looked at the team nervously, "Why's he so broken up?"

"It's nothing." Canine replied. He raised a hand, and everyone stopped. "Where's Boomer?" The squad looked ahead and behind, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"There's no time to look for him," Dante said, "We have to get to that Striker Mortar before they breach our lines." The next turn led the squad into a large square. Munitions were packed in crates, and other supplies filled the area. It was a gold mine. The down side was that there was at least sixty Innies positioned in it, packing things and rummaging through the boxes. It didn't take very long for them to notice red team.

The Chief dashed right into the square, firing his two SMGs in opposite directions, cutting at least seven innies down. Priming a grenade, he threw it at an innie. It lodged in the man's skull, and detonated, killing three nearby men.

Dante jumped on top of one of the crate stacks, and fired down with his battle rifle. Bullets pinged off of his overshield as he emptied his clip. When his gun clicked, he jumped off of the stack, and kicked an insurrectionist to the ground, landing so his boot smashed the man's skull like a pumpkin.

Private Silvers took a deep breath, then entered the square. He nearly ran right into an insurrectionist. Pulling his knife out, he gutted the man, and sheathed his blade. "Rangers lead the way b1tch." He slammed his back against a crate, and peeked around it's corner. An Innie was aiming a rocket launcher right at Dante and the Chief, who were back to back mowing innies down. Silvers realized that if this idiot fired the rocket launcher, all of the munitions would go off, and the square would light up like the fourth of July. He fired his MA5B, and replaced the innie's brains with led.

Canine stabbed a man in front of him, then twirled his knife around, stabbing one at his back. He spun around, and threw his blade, lodging it right between the two red eyeholes in an innie's mask, causing him to fall over backwards like a board. He heard a click from behind, and turned to see someone pointing an empty gun directly at his head. "fucI<!" The man shouted. Canine punched the soldier in the face, knocking him out instantly. A bullet to his brain insured that he wouldn't be getting back up.

"That's the last of them." Dante said.

"Striker Mortar retrieved." 117 said, extending its three prongs, jamming it into the ground. He flipped out its control panel, and it displayed a map of the battlefield. Zooming in, the Chief put in the coordinates of the three SAM sites, and pulled the trigger.

The Striker Mortar made a thud as a shell flew into the air, broke off into three pieces, and fell over the hill, slamming into the SAM sites. "This is Spartan E18," Dante radioed, "Are there any longsword interceptors in the area?"

This is Raptor 17 give me something to shoot. A voice replied in the classic air force tone.
"There's a hill due east of my position with eight scorpion tanks on it. I need you to roast them."

Affirmitive, here come the fireworks. In about twenty seconds, a longsword interceptor roared overhead, and dropped a line of bombs on the hill, obliterating the tanks.

Dante looked at the Chief, who nodded at him, and grabbed a med kit for the Rangers. Something about the Chief gave Dante hope, beside the fact that he had saved the universe from what seemed like imminent doom. 117 was everything Dante wanted to be.

A flaming warthog flew into the square, heading straight for Private Silvers. The Spartans were preoccupied gathering supplies, and Canine was looking up at the space battle. Right before it hit, Shadow tackled the Ranger out of the way. Shadow got up, and lifted Silvers too his feet.

A pelican touched down in the square, and its hatch opened, revealing Commander Bayard and Saline. "All aboard to safety!"
