Something to think about:
Being recognized is not something one should go after. Recognition is something that is secondary to or comes after actions that other people believe need to be recognized. I don't go and walk an old lady across the street and then say to people on the other side of the street, "Did you see that? That was me! Yep, I just did that. Wasn't that amazing? Oh don't applaud, just throw money. All hail me! I just walked an old lady across the street dawgz!"
Any time anyone is recognized, it is because someone felt the need to recognize another person.
Do good things because it is the right thing to do, not because you will get recognition. I follow the rules here to the best of my ability. Not because I am going to get a blue bar one day, but because it is the right thing to do. It is expected of all of us. Playing nice treats people nice and I want to be treated nice so I play nice.
DeltaThis is how I see titles. They're not something to work forward, there just meant to be a "pat on the back". Overall more titles could be a fun thing, but many people here want them for the wrong reasons. Much like Recon armor, there just a bunch of pixels with no value. There is nothing special about them.
Touching up a bit on what you said Skibur, titles aren't necessarily a good way to measure someones devotion to the site. There are many people who have devoted a lot of time, but only have a normal title bar because of a hick up along the way. You can use them to gauge a members devotion, but in they end they are nothing else besides eye candy.
