Although I am not a Mythic Member or a member of Bungie.net for 5+ years, I also believe we need more titles. Like someone else said in the thread (on the first page), beyond Mythic would be Acient (7+ years).

Taxes do nothing to affect the share of wealth, since taxes are only applied to income.

So that's not even a part of the conversation at all, so it's pointless talking about it....

"for a "best" moral to exist, there must exist the "best" moral base. If the base of morality varies from location to location, culture to culture...then there can't be an absolute moral..

Doesn't exalted mythic just mean that a person has been around a relatively long while, made relatively many posts, and has received relatively few reprimands? Isn't that all that mythic variants amount to?

Exalted Mythic should be changed to "the most nerdy"

Then what would Master Forum Ninja be?

Well, I'm glad this thread achieved something.

Rules only apply to certain people, thats the vibe I get from this thread. Not really sure if your post is sarcasm but that is what it seems to be.

I look at titles as a reminder of what this website truly is, a way to waste time. I don't see the need for any new titles. I find it rather odd a prior "Ninja" started this thread, just why exactly did you bring this up? I see another motive for this thread and I find it somewhat funny that the community cannot see the satire in the OP. I don't think the OP is "rank baiting", its something much more clever.

The OP was edited, but when I first read this thread the other day (backwards) something about the way people were posting struck me as odd. Then I read the OP and it hit me. This thread is more of an "inside joke", its a very clever way to tell other members "I'm still better than you". The OP was was reported enough to make it go away, that should say something right there. I wish someone would have quoted the first OP, then I could point out the satire as I see it. I'm a bit of an outsider to this community and I tend to lurk, reading a thread backwards is a lot like reading a book the same way. You should give it a go sometime.

Known by some, but not by all.
Soffish: Do not eat!
TWP Assistant Director.

I think it's great when a person gets the blue bar. Good for them. I really mean that. It mean they have been here a while and follow the rules. There was a time when we were all just members. Never forget where you came from. We were all noobs at one time or another. It is human nature to inflate value onto something. It is human nature to want to feel valued. It's human nature to want to be respected.

If you want to feel value, then value those around you. If you want to be respected, then respect those around you. Don't envy or be jealous because some one is going to achieve what you have achieved.

Something to think about:

Being recognized is not something one should go after. Recognition is something that is secondary to or comes after actions that other people believe need to be recognized. I don't go and walk an old lady across the street and then say to people on the other side of the street, "Did you see that? That was me! Yep, I just did that. Wasn't that amazing? Oh don't applaud, just throw money. All hail me! I just walked an old lady across the street dawgz!"

Any time anyone is recognized, it is because someone felt the need to recognize another person.

Do good things because it is the right thing to do, not because you will get recognition. I follow the rules here to the best of my ability. Not because I am going to get a blue bar one day, but because it is the right thing to do. It is expected of all of us. Playing nice treats people nice and I want to be treated nice so I play nice.

This is how I see titles. They're not something to work forward, there just meant to be a "pat on the back". Overall more titles could be a fun thing, but many people here want them for the wrong reasons. Much like Recon armor, there just a bunch of pixels with no value. There is nothing special about them.

Touching up a bit on what you said Skibur, titles aren't necessarily a good way to measure someones devotion to the site. There are many people who have devoted a lot of time, but only have a normal title bar because of a hick up along the way. You can use them to gauge a members devotion, but in they end they are nothing else besides eye candy.

Too bad. They are meant to encourage investing in a single account - that means that as more people stick around, more will gain the title as a reward for keeping their same accounts. There won't be more added unless I decide to totally change how titles work at some theoretical point in the future.

With the ageing Bungie.net population and the already high number of Mythic Members, I think that we need to implement a number of new titles which are (see edit) than Mythic Member.
It's not as special being Mythic when pretty soon members who registered in 2008 will be given the title.

Suggestions for new titles and general discussion is welcome.

EDIT: These new titles would need to be added between Member and Heroic, Heroic and Legendary and Legendary and Mythic.
We shouldn't have anything higher than Mythic. (There is nothing higher than Mythic)

Ah. I see.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Mythics need to be rare. I was a Mythic when they first were implemented (took a break from Bnet and lost it). It seemed more special then. Now it seems like they are everywhere.

You know, I could have sworn you were a Ninja...

Anyway, I've only been around since the beginning of 2008, so I'm a ways off from being a Mythic member. Isn't there a certain quota of Mythic members though? I thought that at any given time the number was kept around two-hundred.
There is a whole group that has over 500 Mythic Members. And the group name is Mythic Members.

Yes, but that group has anyone who's ever been a Mythic member who may no longer be one.

For a while I wanted something above "Exalted Mythic" for people that never had a ban/warning for 5+ years, but then TU gave me my first ever warning and made me Fabled. Now I really couldn't care less. :-(

"If you fight it, you become it."

Is your title really that important anyways? Bungie knows who has spent time on this site, and vice versa. If it's a better status you're looking for, then I guess you're going to have to sit back and wait for time to pass. -CB

All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see

Ooooh, conspiracy! :O

I only added content to the OP in my edit, I didn't change or remove anything.

I was probably reported because people yell troll at the slightest things these days, because I was sounding elitist (well I am elitist) and because it was praising member titles, which people have been bullied into not doing.

Sure, let's add more "meaningless" titles. I don't know if they would really add anything except more tiers of membership. I like the ones as they are now, as they are based of the Halo difficulty levels(*cumulative gasp*), and that's kind of neat.

Maybe use the marathon difficulty levels?

That sounds pretty much right from what I've seen on the forums. I've never been warned or banned from what I can remember and likewise think I've been exalted since the prefixes were introduced (did they come with the member titles originally?).

folgen Sie dem Führer

i honestly dont mind what my title says, i have been here since 05 and i visit the site everyday!

but since i dont post my title doesnt show. but honestly if you need to have some custom title to let your self know who you are, then i seriously think you need to rethink some things in your life.

but if any change were to be made, i think bungie should hide your title from yourself, and only other members can see what it is. then you would have no idea what it is.
