Dang!

this thread was at like 3 pages yesterday.
Even so, I still think the system is fine the way it is.

Dang! How American! lol

Its growing over nothing, they said they didn't want any added, at least not for a while.

In my mind, a good solution then would be to keep the current system as is with an option for moderators/admin staff to 'upgrade' a member to (for arguments sake) 'Epic' status for contribution to the community.

I'll use my experence as an example. I was heavily involved in the community 2-3 years ago (Running various large groups etc). However the only reason i have mythic is due to the fact i have been here so long, the system in place can't quantify actual contribution. The only way of doing that would to have a few mods do it. That however leads to a lot of problems with people asking and thinking they've done enough to attain this new title. If that approach was taken it would perhaps be best to impose a "If you ask, you don't get policy".

It's an idea. It might evenencourage more community projects. Or just make more people moan. You'd also need to backdate those moving onto mythic or risk pissing off people !

Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

I think an arbitrarily high number of titles should be added. Something in the 10,000+ range of new titles. That way no one can figure them out while at the same time investing inordinate amount of time trying to. It would take an illogically complex system to implement my vision but just imagine the results: titles like "skipididoo" "bloombloom" and "megatron?" would be floating around everywhere or nowhere. I believe this would create the internet utopia we have been actively dreaming of.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I've been on here since early 2007, however I don't post that often.

I normally find myself reading threads, and if I don't have anything to add, I usually don't post. As a result of this, I have a low title (I like mine though).

Maybe, depending on the time spent being a member of Bnet, users could unlock more avatars?

i would like a member title that u get for being band a lot. Id support that title

Isn't it good people more people will be Mythic? You're making this topic sound like Recon and how people won't be special anymore when it takes any member to go up to Mythic a long time?
Also, isn't that the point of prefixes?

I Would Have Been Your Daddy

Floodian would be an awesome title, am I right?

edit-
imagine if we could choose our BNet path like in KOTOR!
I'd choose the Flood side of the Force

Do you know about time travel?

I am fine with the current member titles and system. Sure a few things could be changed/added, but I still like the system.

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

lol. that's pretty good.

but i have seen a lot more mythic members lately, and although you expect them to be more mature other can be as well.

But what could be higher then mythic? And would all the mythic members want that added?

I think they would probably say yes because if I was a Mythic member I would grow old of it sometime.

More "in between" titles would be amazing. I don't really care to elaborate, but it would be nice.

Too bad. They are meant to encourage investing in a single account - that means that as more people stick around, more will gain the title as a reward for keeping their same accounts. There won't be more added unless I decide to totally change how titles work at some theoretical point in the future.

With the ageing Bungie.net population and the already high number of Mythic Members, I think that we need to implement a number of new titles which are (see edit) than Mythic Member.
It's not as special being Mythic when pretty soon members who registered in 2008 will be given the title.

Suggestions for new titles and general discussion is welcome.

EDIT: These new titles would need to be added between Member and Heroic, Heroic and Legendary and Legendary and Mythic.
We shouldn't have anything higher than Mythic. (There is nothing higher than Mythic)

Duardo's idea is good though, wouldn't you mind just adding one teeny weeny prefix, baby?

So does this mean I can do the PM version of drunk dialing you when I'm lonely? Seriously though thanks, I already enjoy this group a lot so I'm planning on staying.

Oh god yes.
Er, I mean, yes sure. They certainly give an interesting look into a person ^.^;

I thought this was settled when Anchorons posted?

The spammers overruled him in the ODST forum, we'll overrule him about titles :p

[*Please note that anything in my posts is likely to be filled with sarcasm, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I tend to help people, usually*]

I find it hard to have an opinion on this topic, however, I would like to say that I don't think there are "too many" Mythic members. I personally think it just means that there's a lot of people that are "trusted" or always on a single account.

I do think it's kinda funny that an apparent large* amount of Mythic members MUST mean that the system am borked.

*I'd like to point out that I see like at least 2 or 3 mythic members per thread in any forum that isn't the Septagon (the Mythic member breeding zone, apparently), which I personally think is about right.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Haha, mind reader? ;)

I fluctuated between Mythic and Legendary a bit before I went inactive for a couple weeks. This is probably one of the more mature (stepping out on a limb here) forums. I tend to stick around here, sometimes the flood but I have noticed the lack of blue in other forums.
