Perhaps divide the meaning of the prefixes? Like so:

Member - will have prefixes "Noble", "Senior", "Fabled",and "Intrepid"

Exalted Member - new rank, has own title bar color (another grey maybe), NO prefixes.

Heroic Member - will have prefixes "Noble", "Senior", "Fabled",and "Intrepid".

Exalted Heroic Member - new rank, has own title bar color (another grey maybe), NO prefixes.

Legendary Member - will have prefixes "Noble", "Senior", "Fabled",and "Intrepid".

Exalted Legendary Member - new rank, has own title bar color (another grey maybe), NO prefixes.

Mythic Member - will have prefixes "Noble", "Senior", "Fabled",and "Intrepid".

Exalted Mythic Member - new rank, has own title bar color (another grey maybe), NO prefixes.

Now I'm not saying this exactly is the best idea, but perhaps something similar.

"Find The Bomb?!
Find The Bomb?!
I'm Looking For The Flag!
What The Heck Is Assualt!?"

I would agree.

I remember back in the day when I saw a mythic member and thought, "That guy has been here awhile." But lately I see that people around when I joined are all becoming mythic members and it no longer really differentiates when you joined, but rather just a slur.

It would be nice to see something else for those who really have been here forever, it could be something like, "Lazy," Or, "Rambunctious," or even, "Derelict."

Or maybe add some more age prefixes such as:
Ancient.

Wait so do you mean that they should just keep it at a Mythic Member instead of maybe a Fabled Mythic Member or Exalted Mythic Member?
No. The prefixes are fine and should remain, but the base titles should be increased to say, seven (from four).

Oh so there should maybe be some new titles other than Heroic, Legendary, and Mythic, but Mythic would still remain the highest, so they would just add some new titles, such as a new one that's higher than Heroic, but lower than Legendary, and maybe another one after Legendary, but is still lower than Mythic, right?

  • 04.03.2010 9:13 AM PDT

Well, I agree. This will lead to more distinction between members.

We don't need a rule for every single freaking thing someone thinks is spam.

Don't really see the point, It's not as if EVERY member who joined in 2008 is going to be a Mythic. Out of the millions of members that joined only a dozen or so are likely to get to Mythic status, even then if it's getting too common Achronos can just increase the required trust rating for titles, or do a distribution curve with the top, say, 0.0005% being mythic. . . I like statistics. . . Don't judge me. . .

This, I approve of this method over adding more titles. Lets not add to the mix, just change the requirements for what we already have to work with.

Personally, I find the quality of what people post more important than what title they are.
I honestly think the title system should be gotten rid of. The only people that should have titles are mods and employees. Everyone else should just be considered equal. I really don't "trust" Exalted Mythics more than a regular Member, they have just been here longer than others and have avoided being banned.

I think that everyone should be promoted to Exalted Mythic Member! Then there will be no more title disputes.

Trust them with what? It's an internet forum so as far trust goes I'd say that a person who has managed to stay away from bans is more trustworthy than one who gets banned once a week.

Also, isnt the whole *obvious and politically correct answer* thing getting old by the way? Have the two of you ever considered the possibility that you should post what you really think and not what you imagine that people want to hear? Or do you honestly think that we're all equal and that age/gender/race/location/etc has no effect on a person? I would love to experience your worlds, if only for two seconds.

I agree. There's not much that's been placed in our hands out of trust. There's nothing to trust us with other than being good. We don't have special features or anything to utilize due to our "trust" rating.

That's why I put it in quotes. It's called the trust system, but nobody is actually "trusted" more than anyone else.

Yeah, but then we need a whole bunch of different colors that match the site to go as title bars. . . Unless we get rid of all bar colors except employees/ mods. . .

If titles show trust, then am I the least trusted?

You guys can trust me, right?

Oh bloody hell, this better be a joke.

I hate the title system as it is already. I put up with it out of necessity, but Coup is pretty much my bloody savior in that I can ignore it. The titles contribute very little to the site in a positive manner and, depending upon the user, it could be argued that they are actually rather damaging. Mythic trolls, mythics that don't know what they're talking about, et cetera.

No more titles. Leave it the way it is; a prefix addition was bad enough.

Agreed!
...Wait.
>_<

But I think that having a title between Regular member and Heroic would be like "Becoming" Member or something.

That's all I can think of at the moment.
