Titles are the last thing that needs to be expanded.

It just breeds a ridiculous elitism and segregation and honestly just gets in the way of people having normal. intelligent conversations.

I can understand and respect the want or need to show the age of members in some way. But it's clear that no one can handle such a thing without taking the titles to mean more than they do. People focus on increasing their title and not on just normal discussion about Halo and Bungie. It affects what and how people post.

It's not all that accurate anyhow. Some folks (like myself) have been here since as early as 01-02 but changed accounts.

Crimson Clover

I can see a day when elder members rule the place. The system worked well when it was first implemented because the proportions of members with certain titles worked out. At some point the system will need to be tweaked since it is somewhat based on length of time spent here. The titles that were only meant to cover a certain time frame now cover a much wider range. We may need more titles to cover the extra areas.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

...even then if it's getting too common Achronos can just increase the required trust rating for titles, or do a distribution curve with the top, say, 0.0005% being mythic. . . I like statistics. . . Don't judge me. . .

This, I approve of this method over adding more titles. Lets not add to the mix, just change the requirements for what we already have to work with.
Or increase trust ratings required for every title. But I like the idea.

Exalted Mythic should be changed to "the most nerdy"
:(

Similar to what Scapegoat413 siad, I would actually prefer to have the system changed to be more along the lines of what Achronos has hinted about in the past, which would be a customizable title system linked to achievements/feats within the Bungie game titles.

I think that would solve a lot of the problems caused by how most people view the current title system, and I think it would actually add some fun to the system. I'd probably post in the main forums a lot more as well, if the system was changed.

When there are too many Mythic Members, Achronos will just change the algorithm and there won't be as many Mythic Members again. Pretty pointless to add new titles if you ask me. Every time something has been wrong with the formula in the past, it has just been changed. I don't see why it should be any different here.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

Like this.

That is horrendously ugly.

I have a better idea, get rid of the current system completely. Replace it with rep if people really care that much about measuring their forum -blam!-.

Agreed.

Though, I wonder what is wrong with an increased number in Mythic members? I mean, how could there be too many? Doesn't it simply mean there would be a larger number of 'trusted' members? Members not breaking the rules etc.?

If you ask me, the more Mythic members, the better. There will of course be an increase in new members as well when the Reach Beta and game arrive.

I don't know, I really may be missing something here. I just don't see a problem with an increase in Mythic members...andwhatduardosaid

Don't really see the point, It's not as if EVERY member who joined in 2008 is going to be a Mythic. Out of the millions of members that joined only a dozen or so are likely to get to Mythic status, even then if it's getting too common Achronos can just increase the required trust rating for titles, or do a distribution curve with the top, say, 0.0005% being mythic. . . I like statistics. . . Don't judge me. . .

47% of statistics are made up on the spot. no offense

A rough calculation of what percentage of 10 000 000 members should make up Mythics, forgot a zero, should be 0.00005. That numbers puts 500 members as Mythics if we had 10 000 000 members.

Stick that in your statistical pipe and smoke it.

Break down, every single one of you.

Dude, I just want to get to Heroic Member. My brother and I have been here for two years and he is an Intrepid Legendary Member. I joined five days after he did and I'm still just a Member.

See, join date aside, we have had more experience on here through the highs and lows. We know more about the community, we know more people, we are part of an elite club, the Mythic club.

2008 members (an all other members) are part of an elite club in their own right, but not part of ours, in my opinion.

Wow. I can't believe I just read that.

I agree but I think the highest title should be Epic
Yes.

And there should only be one, and it should go to the person with the single most epic post ever.

We should vote on this: my vote goes to good 'ol "Guy2Ban."

Yea, and its not fair for the 5 Star Generals because pretty soon everyone will be one.

You do have a good point, but either way, you a prolonging the inevitable.

With the ageing Bungie.net population and the already high number of Mythic Members, I think that we need to implement a number of new titles which are (see edit) than Mythic Member.
It's not as special being Mythic when pretty soon members who registered in 2008 will be given the title.

Suggestions for new titles and general discussion is welcome.

EDIT: These new titles would need to be added between Member and Heroic, Heroic and Legendary and Legendary and Mythic.
We shouldn't have anything higher than Mythic. (There is nothing higher than Mythic)

Join TBT today!

I think more titles gives people a chance to "rank up" a little faster than normal. Although it wouldn't really affect the title system that much, it gives members more incentive to do better, and also gives more room for individuality.

The prefixes are fine and should remain, but the base titles should be increased to say, seven (from four).

I agree completely ^_^
