Subject: Plea to developers - Halo 2 on Win7

I have tried everything suggested on the GfW:L forums, the Microsoft support forums, and Google. No matter what I do, Halo 2 will not run on my OS (Win 7 64). Is there any chance whatsoever that there is some developer secret that could make it run? I would love to be able to play multiplayer again just once before the 15th, but as it stands I'm left without a working copy of Halo 2 and have been since I upgraded to Windows 7. This is my last effort before I just hang the disk from my rear view mirror, if there's a dev out there who can help with this, or at least just tell me they can't, it would be awesome to hear from you.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles getting the game to run but the good news is that Halo 2 for the PC will continue to function normally on Xbox Live indefinitely. No need to rush to play it before the 15th because the game will always be there. Only the Xbox version of the game will be going offline on the 15th.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Only the xbox version of halo 2 is shutting down on April 15th. Halo 2 Vista or the pc version of halo 2 will not be shut down.

In that case, thanks. I have the entire foreseeable future to get the Microsoft Game Studios game I bought to run on Microsoft's flagship OS, haha. My original point still stands though, if anyone can help me get it working I would love them forever.

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

Their is probably no one available to help you, however you're in luck! You will get the chance to play Halo 2 again. They have it available for WINDOWS and VISTA. Please be sure and support Microsoft and buy before April 15th.

My Youtube - Halo 2 Online Co-op
BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I have this problem to, H2V won't run, infact I believe it's the only game anyone will ever experience this problem, especially on Windows 7 x64.

Microsoft fails, I can't even play a game I paid for, anymore.
Their solutions fail too.

@ CtMythic
it's best to wait until they Microsoft 100% fix their damn problem with their crappy Cryptographic program.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

I just downgraded to vista. After all, 7 sucks.

@ RetroMonster, maybe read my post before you reply, lol.

@ Shock120, as if that will ever happen haha, that costs money and Microsoft like money. A lot.

Someone that does something, somewhere.

Also: Bungie didn't release, nor port Halo 2 to vista/xp.

That was done by an internal MS team...

or you have a hacked/torrented version of halo 2 vista. if its hacked/torrented version of the game then tough luck. i just upgraded to windows 7 and it works fine. my friend though who torrented it can't run it.

My H2 is a retail disk, and there is a 1000+ post topic on the GfW:L forums about this issue so it isn't just me. However I've been lucky enough to be the guy who can't fix the problem using the solutions on that thread.

@Faltzer117, Tried everything on there like 5 times to no avail, thanks for the help though.

Do you even have the right specs to run halo 2 vista for your comp? What exactly is your problem.

Before you guys keep whining on how "ms sux", first, making a os is hard. Second, try installing all updates from windows update, even the optional ones, as one update fixed compatability with many programs. One was h2pc.
