Im not trying to be evil. Many people choose PC instead of Xbox. I can understand having both. I don't think that the reduced graphics and lagging is worth it unless you have the xbox version also. Don't turn this into a flame war.

I don't have an Xbox to began with. And most of the PC players were waiting for this game since 1999 before Microsoft bought out Bungie.

Aside from Halo PC not supporting FSAA, I'm not sure how you could claim the Xbox version has superior graphics, not when you can play PC at far higher resolutions than what any reasonably-priced TV supports. In addition, multiplayer on Xbox further reduces graphical quality by dividing screen realestate into quarters. I'd be interested to hear other opinions on this, as I've heard talk of this repeatedly.

I play PC because of the online multiplayer aspect, and because I don't own an Xbox. I got hooked on Halo by playing on a friend's Xbox. It took some getting used to coming from the console, but I've never looked back. :) IMO the mouse/keyboard combo is unbeatable for responsiveness and intuitive movement.

In fact, if I knew that a Halo 2 for PC were coming out at the same time as Xbox Halo 2, I'd not bother buying an entire Xbox setup just for two games, but as things stand, I'll probably shell out the cash for the console version because I can't stand to wait (shhhhhh, don't tell MS this, damnit). ;) Of course, I still want a PC version, because I like playing games on the PC much better when there's nobody else around to play with me on the console.

My $0.02.

I chose Xbox because its the original game, not some ported game that feels nothing like its Console cousin. (Believe me, I have played the PC version)

Also alls you need for the Xbox version is an Xbox and a controller, but for PC you need a great graphics card, a very up to date computer, and a STUPID mouse and keyboard.

Yes the PC game has improved graphics, and grreat online play, but the controls feel sluggish and as I said before, just does not feel Halo'y.

And one last thing, HALO 2 is coming out for Xbox! I feel sorry for you "only PC users" with no Xbox, or without a friend with an Xbox. Because while i'm killing Elites on Xbox live with Dual SMGs and your sitting at home playing the orignal. HA!

Peace

eaiser by far to play online with pc than with xbox tunneling software, that really was the only reason i got it having bought an xbox purely for halo and halo 2 ( a few other games are in there but the original intent was only for those)
having been playing halo pc SINCE DAY ONE i've noticed (in australian servers... there being only 1 -2 up at one time <_<) that there is an increase towards rl and fr usage, but i guess this can't be avoided, i play prominantley as =SS=SpArTaN (pfttt original i know) but have gone off it a bit and tend to only play in a few pub games a week and of course will show up for a clan war if i can

My computer runs Halo better than an Xbox. I have a 19" monitor that goes up to 1600X1200 and a kickass processer, motherboard, and graphics card to add to a big screen. My graphics card is a ATI Radeon 9800 XT. I don't know why ppl can't accept this but computers will always be ahead of video game consoles. I have every console and am saving that dumb Xbox for H2 and thats it.

I fell in love with Halo on my friend's XBox, at that time last year I was an average, below-average player. Then I got Halo PC, played 6 hours a day on the internet with strangers, met people of all different skill levels, went back and wiped the floor with my friends. But I do miss the banshees, new weapons, and new maps on XBox, tho I don't have to lead targets and the pistol's small auto-aim does tons for me now.

No reason to hate Halo PC, if you don't like it play the other one, but I assure you PC multiplay is a good thing :).

I have both versions of Halo, XBOX and PC. However, playing on the PC is a much more enjoyable experience because of all the multiplayer features that lack on the XBOX (or you have to buy in order to play). I do not have XBOX Live and will not buy it for Halo when I can play it online on my computer. XBOX Halo is fun for LAN parties (my cousins and their friends got a 16-player LAN party going one time), and believe me it is worth the money for the adapters/routers (whatever you want to call them). XBOX Halo has better graphics than my computer version though, sad as it may be.

I leave you with this, who wouldn't want to fly a banshee? :D

Technicly you're looking at Graphics that is four years old on the PC. Gearbox basically ported the engine to make it work on PC, not to make it better. Sure it has high resolution, but the sharper the resolution is shows the flaws in the engine. You could get away with it on the Xbox since not alot of people have HDTV and the image is stretched out while on PC it is sharper.

I chose the PC version because at the time that I got it I didn't have an Xbox and my PC was capable of playing it. It cost me less to get it on PC than on Xbox. However in relation to Halo 2 I decided to get an Xbox because it would cost me more to get it when (and if) it even comes out on PC. (Specifically because I would need to buy a new computer to play it.)

There are different reasons for getting version over the other, my personal one is cost.

Sidenote: I actually like the controls on both versions and will adapt to either when necessary.

I'm no computer hater, I just enjoy consoles more. And for me the Mouse and Keyboard is very clumsy while the Xbox "S" controller feels perfect for everything. My computer sucks by the way, so I think I have some hidden jealousy in there somewhere.... But don't worry i'm getting a new one soon, but I won't care by then because i'll be playing Halo 2 online on my Xbox! : )

~Peace!~

Like most, I played Halo on X-Box first. Then, because of the never-ending hunger for more and more HALOHALOHALOHALOHALOHALOHALOHALOHALOHALO...I bought the PC version since it did have certain qualities the console didn't. People were talking about the different maps, higher resolution abilities and maybe I just wanted to see for myself what it was like, and, of course, I even blew my wad on a better computer setup for ultimate graphics and online gaming ability and now there's even HALO CE. And you know what... I Love them both. (Although I wish I had a common controller between them!!) The console is great and I'll play it any day of the week as well as on the PC. Love campaign play and online multiplayer on both. If there is gonna be a second Xbox with a HALO 3 I'll freakin play that too! The truth is, if they came out with a HALO board game I would probably buy one cause I NEED A HALO FIX 24/7!!!!
Now... I gotta go play HALO.
I'M GETTIN THE SHAKES MAN!
