Subject: Game Installation to USB Storage Device

Does anyone happen to know whether the policy has or will change with regards to game installation now that the update for USB devices is live? My understanding was that the limitation was due to the hard drive I/O being double-hit, for lack of a better phrase, when it was installed to the hard drive. That wouldn't seem to be the case with USB devices, but I'm no engineer.

Indeed. I haven't had XBL for a long time, but I still come on her everyday.

Installing Halo 3: ODST to your hard drive or any alternative storage devices is fine; installing Halo 3 is not.

Aha- thanks! Apparently that bit of info blew right past me. Incidentally, I did install the ODST multiplayer disc to my USB flash drive to test map loading in a custom game as it was disturbingly slow. But, from what I understand, flash drives can vary in speed dramatically.
