Sorry this is about Halo 1 but no one is answering me there in that forum. Anyway, I recently bought a Widescreen TV for Halo 2 and was wondering how to play the original Halo on widescreen without the black bars on the edges. Without using my tv to stretch it or something. Does it support it and how do I use it? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure specifically about Halo 2, but I know there's a setting on the XBox dashboard.

Turn the XBox on without a game in it, and go to 'Settings'. Somewhere in there (probably under 'Display' or 'Video', or something like that), there should be a setting for widescreen.

Set it to that and it should work, though I've never tried it yet.

well in the xbox settings it has options to change it to widescreen... not sure whether that helps or not though. My dad won't let me touch our new 61" LG projection/LCD... (much less probe it with evil gaming wires)

not particularly wise to play video games on a projection tv.

images burn in much faster.

yeah, nothing will happen if you're careful like that (dimming = nice idea).

But if you leave a still image up too long, start praying.

Yeah I've already changed my settings on xbox to widescreen, but Halo still doesn't play in widescreen. I'm starting to think it musn't be compatable like someone said. Its weird though cause it starts up in proper widescreen and then flashes back to having the black edges. Also i've checked in Halo and there doesn't seem to be any info on how to change to a widescreen display. Thanks for you help everyone and any further help would be appreciated.
