8,020,173: Heroic Co-op Firefight on Alpha Site

The "secret" is to get as many style kills as you can - this means using the noob combo on brutes a lot. Also, don't die - you get nice point bonuses for killing sprees and weapon sprees. You can do this by keeping all enemies at range. The SMG+beatdown doesn't work in ODST like it does in H3 matchmaking.

Fight to the Finish!

Are there any hidden weapons besides what you get a the starting place?

  • 04.07.2010 5:57 PM PDT

Yeah. For example, on Crater, there is a sniper directly across from your spawn, and a rocket directly underneath the sniper.

Why are we here?

Well, before a match turn on the Grunt Birthday Party Skull and Cowbell Skull on, it will cause a small splash damage to the enemies around the Grunt if you get a headshot and cowbell will increase that damage, be warned this will also effect other weapons. When the tilt skull comes on, the carbine is most useful. Keep your Silenced SMG handy as you will encounter numerous squads of grunts and jackals. For Brutes, I would recomend something like a Plasma Rifle, when the shields are lowered: switch to your Automag and aim for the head as it will be a one shot kill. Drones can be pesky little bastards, if you are in Lost Platoon, the Warthog's chaingun will make short work against swarms. If you encounter vehicles try to paralyze them with an overcharged plasma pistol then go for the kill. A trick I like to do with Wraiths is when thier being dropped off, get behind the Phantom before it lands then board the Wraith from behind, making a quick kill. Be warned you will be right in the middle of a Covenant cluster. Well I hope these tips should help.

I would make sure you have a good team going into it if you're planning on any serious fire fighting. I would keep tabs on what spawns where, Alpha Site for example has a rocket launcher behind the wall from where you start, very important to keep in mind.

As for Cowbell, I would never recommend using that skull. Although it can be a benefit to you, I believe its more trouble than its worth as it has the same effect with covenant weapons.

Be aware of your surroundings.

Really, Rockets? Thanks I had no idea.

Yeah, if you have to, set up a game then go back and look through the level in theater mode to get a grasp of where things are. I reference Alpha Site a lot because thats the perfect Endure map. Also, plasma pistols are seriously your friend in firefight.

Edit: The rockets spawn on the opposite wall from where you spawn, forgot to correct myself.

Get good teammates, have a strategy, use cover, and always have a plasma weapon on you like the plasma rifle or plasma pistol.

  • 04.07.2010 7:41 PM PDT

Get a good team
Be familiar with the map
You need to have the right gun for the right situation

  • 04.07.2010 8:12 PM PDT

Good teammate. Know the map. Know the enemies and what weapons to use. Have some luck. :)

KILLING AND RAPING MY XBOX DOESNT IMPROVE MY MATHS TEST RESULTS!!!

Be a Noob! It's okay in Firefight. Rocket down those groups of enemies, splatter those grunts before they can see you coming. Do whatever it takes to survive. The golden rule as many before me have said is: Don't die. If you die, you have just lost a life that is irreplaceable. You get an extra life every round, sure. But isn't it better to have those lives AND the lives that you started with? Just use long range verse grunts, they'll start throwing grenades otherwise. Use mid range weapons against brutes and do not be afraid to whack if it is just one of them.

Reserve power weapons. Leave them inside your base near the SMGs and Pistols. You WILL need them. Snipers maybe not, but the rockets you will need against chieftains. If they get too close, they could mean the loss of many lives. I lost a game of firefight in Set 3, because of a chieftain making its way into my base on Crater. I lost 3 lives there.

If you're running out and shooting enemies Rambo-style, that is probably why.

Using cover is important. Wise use of ammo and health packs are important too. Don't go for a health pack because you lost a tiny bit of your health.

Spartan I Project - Community Game Nights Team Leader

You need to split the work up between the team. Usually when I play, I get the Heavy weapons and plan on neutralizing wraiths and hunters and keep a pistol handy if anyone gets close to me. Usually i just beat down people to save ammo. Or use sticky/incendiary grenades for tougher enemies.

Have someone who plans on keeping a plasma pistol handy to knock off brute armor. Have someone get a sniper for chieftain kills. I also recommend keeping a turret handy for drones. Whether it is stationary or on a warthog.

Most importantly find a defendable position. You can always send one or two people on a weapon run but have a designated fall back place. Preferably with a narrow hallway or the least amount of entrances for when the drones come, or when the jet pack brutes come. Force them in to small corridors.
