I like deano's opinion, that sounds very logical. I like it! I hope they do it that way....now what about the ammo split up when you drop a second weapon of the same type??? Mr. Know-It-All!!! j/k

like i said above i dont think you will have to press "X" to pick up ammo, i think it will automatically assume you want to pick up ammo if you are not holding down "Y", however u could be right, considering when ur running around a level killing people in multiplayer you sometimes dont have time to look at the ground and see what weapons are strewn around from all the dead bodies....

i personally rely on the picture of the weapon in the top left corner of the screen, so actually maybe the "X" to pick up ammo might be right, i just think that the hold "X" to pick up ammo might make it a little "too busy" in my opinion

Easy; if you're dual wielding similar weapons and drop one, all the ammo you can store goes into that single wielded weapon. If your not dual wielding similar weapons, and drop one, then you get all thats left for the weapon you are wielding

ok here is a question, and im suprised i dont know the answer, cause i probably just missed it somewhere, but....

how do you choose which weapon to drop when you are dual wielding.........

example: dual wielding combo SMG/plasma pistol, how do you choose which to drop....

He means that, say u have 2 needlers and u dropone. will u have all of ur ammo from both or half?

thats been asked a good while back; from what I remember, you drop the 2nd weapon you dual wielded. Meaning if you picked up the smg first, and then the plasma pistol, you'll drop the plasma pistol first.

I dont see anything wrong with that really. any problems with that will most likely be because of initial weapon placements

but now we have a reason to use the needler, so we can have dual weilding needlers.

I had the very same question in mind while reading this thread.

what if you're out of ammo with the first weapon, but not the second. you'd have to drop the second and then swap it with the first.

LOL ur right! wow this could become some very confusing nonsense....yet again....

when was the last time you allowed urself to get dangerously low in ammo for a weapon when ur playing multiplayer?......

Example,

If your SMG has a full clip and no extra ammo is needed, you will not pick up ammo for it but you will have the option to dual wield. But if its missing some Clips/Bullets you will start picking up ammo.

In conclusion, yes you can pick up ammo while single or dual wielding, but it is much easier to dual wield combo weapons because of the tiny complications.

if you're already duel weilded, can you switch one of the duel weilded weapons with another one on the ground or would you have to drop one to pick a new one up. also, one option to chose which weapon to drop for duel weild is if you hold y it swaps which weapon is in which hand.

Yes,i know that wouls be good for the gamer, but not really logical, I think. If you drop a weapon would you really go through the hassle of unload the ammo in the weapon you dropped, then put it in the weapon/extra clip for the other weapon or (I think that bungie will do, since they like realism) is you just have to drop the the weapon with clip in it and I guess you get the max of what the gun alows you if you have too much ammo...that is, if they let you carry double the ammo of a gun, instead of spliting the full capacity of a gun...I hope I didn't lose you guys..or more importantly lose myself (probably the case right now) since I hate reading posts that people right, that are worded so wierd, and you just can't follow easily...I try to good to my public...I love you guys..(maybe I should keep drinking and stop posting) Let me hear what you think...this could be hard...

what about reloading time? since you probably have to put away one of the guns to reload the other and the other one too? I hope it will not be a long reloading time or we are in trouble if we do a RAMBO-KILL STUNT

from what i've read, you don't put one away, but reload time is longer. i think it also depends on what weapons you duel weild. i think the mt dew review said needler dual weild was fairly fast, but smg dual weild reload was like 4 sec.

no, i saw the reloading for dual wielding Two SMGs.....ill try to explain what it looks like...

master cheif kinda throws the empty clips out of both guns at the same time by quickly moving both weapons quickly in a downward motion, thus extracting the clips, THEN, when the weapons are out of site he magically puts new clips in and bring them both back up the firing position...

id say it takes no more than 2 seconds...

its not 5 seconds.....ive seen both needler/needler and smg/smg combos reloaded, they dont take more than 2 seconds MAYBE 3, but no more than that, COUNT to 5 in ur head or better yet check a watch.....the old rocket launcher didnt even take that long to reload, it took about 3 and a half seconds

I said under 5 secs Night, and what other weapons can you dual that does not include the needler, pistols, smgs, what other weapon can you dual with or not?

man...i don't knwo if I like this supoer fast dual-weilding reloading...I kinda wanted a game liek the first more realistic, not as unreal like, or constant shooting with no skill...I like the skill aspect of the game, where you have to place shots well, and not unload two weapons in 4 seconds, then reload in 2 and unload again in another 4...what about you guys...? Just a thought of course, who knows...I may like ti how they set it up...it's all speculation as of yet..

here's the quote from the mt dew review. though it might have just seemed long since he was in combat.

"The recoil only gets worse with dual wielding. Reload time is bad with dual wielding as well. It's close to 4 seconds."

dunno how to make links, but here's the full review. quote is at the bottom with the weapon comments.
